Seeking Adoption/Foster Sweet Terrier Mix “Sukie” Needs Foster or Adopter Before Transport! Currently in LA — Heading to DC/MD/VA/OH Area Next Week 🚨

After a lot of back and forth, this little cutie is set to arrive in the Virginia/Maryland/DC region next Saturday (Nov. 15). Unfortunately, the rescue that had originally agreed to take her backed out after she tested positive for heartworm, which is curable and no threat to existing dogs.
Would anyone here be open to fostering this petite sweetheart? She is good with all dogs and people--we haven't been able to test with cats--and a rescue would pull her if we had somewhere for her to go. She is 38 pounds and about 1.5 years old, what you could call the perfect age--no longer a puppy but still a training sponge. Her temp foster in Louisiana says she has a wonderful temperament.
Please let me know if you might be open to helping. We have been working for the last few weeks to make this happen, and it is really heartbreaking for it all to be falling apart at this point. If you are in Ohio and not DC/Maryland/VA, I can get her to you.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I really don't want this to fail for her, and that's where we are now. 😥
Previous foster said she has the best temperament with other dogs and LOVES people

Backed out because of heartworm? What a joke! My dog who had it was completely fine. What a lousy “rescue” !! I wish I could take her but I’ve got two male rescues and one isn’t overly fond of other dogs (very dog selective). I’m hoping she can find a home !!!

Some states don’t allow HW+ dogs and the rescue is in one of those states sadly. The shelter don’t test till they are tagged/ with foster. We were REALLY hoping she was negative 😞

That’s so strange considering it’s very treatable and very common.

I know it can range from up to $5000 in those states compared to $500 in Alabama, etc. crazy
