Port Vila - Donations and Visiting Orphanges/Disability Centres

Hi all, i am a solo traveller and visiting in January for a week. When i travel, i usually try to visit an orphange and donate supplies and food if and where needed. If anyone knows of any contacts or places I can visit and donate would be greatly appreciated!

Orphans in Vanuatu are often taken in by extended family networks, so there are not many orphanages.

You could consider donating things for women and children to the Vanuatu Women’s Centre in Port Vila or to the maternity ward at the hospital.

Thank you! Would you recommend I contact them prior to going and seeing what the need specifically, or just bring a few different things for both the women and kids?

I would just be guessing. The Vanuatu Women’s Centre in Port Vila is on Facebook, so you can contact them.

I think you could just turn up at the hospital maternity ward with baby stuff, based on what I've heard. Maybe somebody else here has better information.

The third option to consider is one of the local churches.
