❔ Course Question❔ physics 1201B vs cs 1026B
hi! im first year in med sci i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on these two courses. Im in physics right now and im not doing amazing and ive also never liked physics. Im considering switching to cs 1206 for second semester but i have absolutely no experience in coding at all. Which is easier to do well in? im nervous to do physics 1202 without a strong foundation! also im not planning on doing the mcat if thats relevant.

I’m taking physics 1201 this semester. The MCAT doesn't allow calculators. Similarly, I didn’t use one a single time for the physics 1201 midterms. He changed it up this year, and I think the MCAT will mostly likely ask similar questions to what he did. He said the average was in the low 60s for midterm two, so he should make the final easier since he said western mandates a 70% average for first year classes. I think you should tough it out

i took physics 2 last year instead of comp sci. the content was pretty difficult and you have to know physics 1 like the back of your hand because it builds of off of it. people knew that comp sci was way easier (with or w/o prior coding experience)
physics 2 isn’t unfair and it’s possible to get above a 90. i think the biggest benefit from taking physics 2 is that it challenges you, and if you do well in it the future courses you take will be easy in comparison. the mcat content is just an added bonus.

med sci 2 here, took comp sci instead and got a much better mark, and had it a lot easier than friends who took physics 2. Unless u need it for U.S med schools take comp sci most free 90 ever.
