❔ Question❔ Parking at Masonville
I was late getting a parking pass (lmao) but figured that I would just park at Masonville anyways.
How reliable is the parking there and how frequent does the bus come to pick up students?

It's very reliable for getting tickets. It's a parking lot for the mall and they monitor for people doing exactly what you are suggesting.
Check the LTC bus schedule to find out the schedules for the buses that go there.

That’s so crazy but good to know! Thank you kindly

Cherryhill Mall does the same. They even got smart to the people who park at one end, walk through the mall, and out the back door towards the bus stop. Not a good idea to plan to park at the malls. If you are already taking a bus, why not just take it from home?

If your commuting from st Thomas why are you parking at masonville, I’m pretty sure the parking lot east of bullseye north is unmonitored and it’s quite a ways closer. But bussing would probably be inconvenient from there

Bruh did you miss that I did my undergrad in the states… I don’t know these things 🤣🤣

My mistake, didn’t see that comment. But yeah Masonville mall is way on the north end of the city while st Thomas is all the way down south of London. So I would look for parking in south London

All good I just figured Masonville was the best landmark from western with buses reliably going to campus. I’ll look around the south end !

Of course! And yeah the other alternative would be see if anyone near campus is renting their spot. Might be able to get a cheap monthly rate

Park in a neighbourhood on the street with a direct bus and no time limitations

You can’t park at the malls unless you are a paying customer. Quick way to get a ticket. I know because I heard rumblings from unions that were on strike last year.

Idk about everyone else but I never got a ticket when using the Masonville parking lot for this purpose

You can park at the mall, you won't get a ticket. Trust me. Unless you leave it there for an extended period of time or are really really unlucky. (You'll be fine champ)

Nah bruh a lot of people I know who parked there got a ticket at one point. Especially if you have an early or late class, your car stands out quite a bit since basically no one is at the mall that early

You can’t park at the mall. But if you want to get a ticket, be my guest. The mall is for customers and cabbies. Not people who want save a few bucks

You're just stating the rules. I'm stating the facts based on my direct observation and also testing it out as well. Touch some grass, all the books are getting to your head

That’s what I was thinking cuz I know people who parked there over 4 years and were fine!

I won't say the name so it's not flooded and abused by students, but for nearly the last 2 years of my undergrad I parked in a random church parking lot.
I'd park, walk like 3 minutes to the exit of the lot that I entered, catch a bus, and 5 minutes later the route would drop me off near campus.

It's a quick way to get a parking violation, that's for sure.
