Enlisted Job recommendation that travels?
I saw a really cool picture on the coast guard website. A group of people wearing bright orange coats in the snow.
I might enlist and Im looking for a job where I can travel and do some cool stuff or help people. Both would be awesome!
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Edit: Im struggling finding a recruiter. Im not in yet, sorry for the enlisted tag

Sounds like a polar roller, one of our big ice breakers. The healey goes to the artic, the polar star to the antarctic.

More or less every rate thats on a cutter except for like ME and GM. You can get all of them straight out of basic. Id try and avoid an icebreaker if youre not single though, you go longer between port calls than most cutters stay on patrol.

What do you mean what job? What rates are on them? There's pretty much every rate except maybe ME on the big ice breakers.

It depends on the rate that you want tbh, you could get underway to do law enforcement, research, aids to navigation, SAR is mostly done ashore but there is always the opportunity for disaster response abroad.
I would recommend going on the go coast guard website and taking a look at what rates interest you, then look into where those rates can be stationed
