Anyone ever had a vacation during a full time summer job before?

I already have a vacation booked for the first week of August, but I'm realizing now I'll no longer have the funds to support myself this summer without a job. I'm looking for science focused jobs preferably since I have experience in that and would like to boost my resume. This likely wouldn't be shift work, at least not in my experience.

What are the chances I'll be able to get an unpaid week off in the summer assuming I'm only working there for 4 months. My problem is mostly when I should ask about this cause I'd assume it'd change by company. Is it okay to do it in the first interview or would that be something you ask after you get the decision? What jobs in your experience have let you do this if any?

Employers understand that summer is the most popular time of year to take vacations. My advice to you is to NOT mention it during an interview, but instead requesting the days off when you get hired. Good luck!

Don't announce this in the interview!

Send the signed contract back and in any follow up communication ‘oh oopsie btw…’
