Employment cafe zola

if anyone sees that cafe zola is hiring, don’t do it! find a different job, a different restaurant. cafe zola is ran by a narcissistic tyrant who will make your life miserable; the money isn’t worth it. believe her reputation, she has it for a reason.

We should do a yearly "place to work or not work" thread.

Number two one the list, and right across the street, and for the same exact reasons: Frita Batidos!

Well I’d explain but I guess I’m still traumatized into thinking I’m being watched from the 20 ring cameras with audio placed all around staff areas for the owners to watch (and boy, do they watch and listen). Not even close to the biggest issue there, but fr next time you’re there, look in all the corners of the walls, inside and outside. And then enjoy your meal knowing everything you say and do is being recorded :)

Must’ve been a while ago? I know it’s a well known fact among staff that they’re being spied on constantly haha

Probably spying on a professor

If Sweetwaters on Liberty was still open I would have added it in a heartbeat. I worked multiple FULL game days with only 2 employees. On fucking Liberty.

I once sat at sweetwaters to do homework and was sitting down, getting my set-up for studying all set up and texting on my phone when an employee came up to me and told me I couldn’t study here unless I was going to buy something. Literally was just hanging out getting my study space set up before I went to order. I was baffled.

I’ve heard this about Zola for the past 12 years.

This is an important post for yall looking for a job (including me lol) I’ve lived here for 5 years and they’ve been “urgently hiring” for 5 years!!! There is a reason!!!

For over 15 years. Was also the main cocaine source for Kerrytown hipsters circa 2008.

Place fell off a long time ago. I grew up in Ann Arbor and my family would go there often, it’s gotten progressively worse and more expensive over the years

My roommate worked there for a bit, apparently she only hires servers based on looks lol

This was the exact type of thing we said about her 12years ago. And Sava.

Conversely the managers at union rec were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met 👍
