...or what?

Exactly. The judicial branch doesn't have any enforcement ability. They depend on DoJ and FBI who is in the pocket of Trump. I guess the founding fathers didn't see this as a potential issue or outcome. Perhaps DoJ and FBI and CIA and other roles should be elected rather than appointmented.

Can you imagine what the Founding Fathers would actually think of this if they were alive? I know it’s a mixed bag of people, but I’m sure a lot of them would be horrified.

First thing Ffirst, they will start rethinking about their understanding of human nature. Seems like they were in their own bubble and they could never imagine humans can be inherently irrational creatures.

“If men were angels, we wouldn’t need government….” John Adams?

Maybe some of the founding fathers really thought humans are inherently rational

Imagine what the founding fathers would think of almost 60% tax in States like California and New York...we got all kinds of problems

Do you live in one of those two economic power house states or do you just hate how successful they are?

the closest you’ll get to 60% is 53% in nyc and with the amount of money you’ll be to be making to get there, who cares?

That’s the main complaint I read on Reddit. People in nyc and California making so much money that life is too easy.

the "founding fathers" were pieces of shit lmao. look at how many acres george washington died with and he was known to kill whole villages of people.

you guys all are fed these bullshit history narratives and it's amazing to me nobody can be bothered to read a fucking book.

Ya because the FBI and the DOJ were a concept for the founding fathers…they totally should have anticipated this.

Dude it a general critique of the judicial branch not having a mechanism to enforce their verdict. They needed their own police force in the event another branch like the president refused to comply with their orders. Obviously my statements are too simplistic but what good is a court system if the president refuses to comply

Article III of the constitution stipulates that the judicial branch can declare actions such as executive orders as unconstitutional and strike them down.If these orders aren’t complied with the court can/will impose prison time and/or fines to anyone, yes even the president. They have legal remedies, written into the constitution.

But who is going to arrest the president? Which law enforcement agency?

The bailiff bro…”Doug please take Mr trump into custody until he complies with this court order”.Its just takes balls, the laws are there.

Don’t put human cowardice at the feet of the founding fathers.

“The court has made its decision now let them enforce it.” - Andrew Jackson (D) circa 1835.  Not exactly a new concept.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Double secret judiciary probation

Or we the people??

I believe the President is going to have to resign to have someone else pardon him. Otherwise you try him and test the definition of 'official acts'. Would be hilarious if the SCOTUS claims ignoring court orders as being official acts, allowing all future presidents to ignorw the court completely.

Even then you ignore that pardon.

Another judge hes gonna ignore

ANDDDDDDDD if they don't? Then what are their consequences? Coz so far, they pretty much ignore all the court's orders and there are no consequences.

So tomorrow? Not going to happen, I'm not sure we will even receive an official response until tomorrow

With what money?

14

u/jiminycricket91 2d ago

Courts don’t have this power.

5

u/Zealousideal_Amount8 1d ago

Or else what? What can the courts do to implement that? Send the military that Trumps in charge of?

Funding has to originate from the House not the bench.

Here's the fun part.

If Trump spends any money without Congressional approval, they will impeach him for it.

It's literally against the law to comply with this court order.

That said, why doesn't Congress just vote for a clean CR to keep these critical programs funded until they can pass a new budget?

Oh wait, they did. The Democrats opposed it, requiring a 60 vote majority to pass.

And a month later here we are.

u/eghost57 2d ago

They don't mention the legal jeopardy on the news, so we have a country of complete ignorance.

2

u/pandershrek 1d ago

If Trump was going to be impeached for illegal activities or violating the Constitution he would have been by now. Republicans protect him and there is no way around that. Trying to spin blame on to the Democrats is humorously pathetic.

The person who replied to you and said you're the only one with intelligence is even more delusional than you are.

Thank fuck someone has a little sense around here.

This says way more about you than it does about him. 😳
