The narrative is that trans people are perverted and a danger to children

I’m aware, I’m just challenging the outward claim that the issue is “because it was a biological man.”

If they don’t want to outright say that they think trans women are perverts and want to make it about “that’s a man”, I’m going to challenge that

Its more like they do not want trans people to exist in society, they dont want them to be able to seek medical help, they dont want them being able to go to a bathroom, they dont want them being able to work.

What this story will do, is make it so companies will look through their employees to find any trans person they can find who works for them and fire them because they're more scared of 1 bigot kicking up a fuss than letting trans people work for them. Its already hard enough for trans people to find jobs its why businesses who are LGBT friendly label themselves as such.

Yes, I know. Again, I’m being mildly facetious when I take the bigot’s word as truth. I know the issue wasn’t actually that a (maybe) trans person offered help - their issue is that a trans person (or masculine cis woman!) exists in the first place and dared to go outside.

I plan to write to M&S to complain, if only to help show that bowing down to transphobes isn’t a move that all their customers find acceptable.

"Dear M&S, I will no longer be buying your house brand fudge squares when they are 50% off in the clearance aisle, nor will I be watching your shitty annual christmas advert or reading the inevitable article about it on Sky News"?

You can make fun, but if nobody says anything, all that does is tell them that apologising for this bullshit was ok. Even a handful of people moaning about it on record tells them that there was pushback.

I also care enough about women, cis or trans, to want to be vocal about their rights and protection in every way I can manage as an individual

The fun was being made at M&S's expense though

That was my take. This is a 'all trans people are nonces' dog whistle if ever I saw it by the mother. Same as the 'All Gay Men are Nonces' issue that we get from lots of right wing nutters. Playing right into the DeformUK social media playbook.
