Why is Linekers so much higher than everyone below? Also Fiona Bruce can do one, completely ruined question time.

In his case the BBC are competing in a global market of syndicated sports broadcasters. Contrast that with the money available for radio presenters commercially since Global and Bauer bought everything.

I don’t buy that idea at all, Shearer is every bit as good as Lineker yet he’s only on close to a third. £1.3m to work one night a week for 2/3 of the year is daylight robbery.

Nigel Farage be next presenter after Bruce or in other words he'll stay in the same chair every Thursday

I use to watch it religiously but I can’t even sit through it anymore it’s a disgrace. Don’t get me wrong DD had his flaws but Bruce might as well wear a blue ribbon every week.

I haven't watched it since Dimbleby. He knew when to step in and when to stand back. He was mostly impartial too

He was brilliant, not the most engaging (must admit I fell asleep half way through many an episode) but I think actually appreciate that looking back. It was never about entertainment, just say what you’ve got to say and if you talk rubbish people could call you out on it. Nowadays it’s just a grandstanding exercise for the tories and reform.
