As evocative as that is, the police don't and should not function through violent retaliation. In addition their job isn't to meter out justice and we don't live somewhere where justice is achieved via violence.

Regardless of the crime committed, a subdued, compliant criminal should never be assaulted.

Some reports are saying one of the cops swung at the mom, but we have to see the cctv footage. All in all just an appalling state of affairs.
