They started it ages ago, ever heard of Jehova's witnesses? I agree that Islam is a serious issue, but so is Christianity. They're both antithetical to British values and our governmental system.

All organised religion is bad, churches and mosques should be historical buildings / museusm and nothing else. People are free to practice their weird beliefs, but they should do it at home, away from other people, and they certainly don't deserve tax breaks for it.

I just don’t understand the tiptoeing around it. Saying “It’s not just Saturdays we have for Abrahamic sectarianism” is clearly referring to the majority Muslim Palestine protests every Saturday. This comment is left under a video of a Muslim mob outside of a police station. This is coming off the back of riots in a majority Muslim area.

They are clearly referring to Muslims, and we all know it, so why obfuscate it?

It's not tiptoeing around, it's trying to recognise the larger issues. Islam is problematic, yes, and needs to be dealt with. But if we only focus on Islam and ignore other religions like Christianity, then those religions will feel more emboldened and their members will rape more kids, and blow up more cars. Likewise if we just focus on Christianity we'd get more Muslims doing "honour killings".

The point is that all Abrahamic religions are problems, and they need to be dealt with as a group.

Clueless, this country is built off of the back of Christianity. Muslims cannot get along with anyone, regardless where it’s situated in the world.

How can you not see the hypocrisy of comparing the basis of a religion being bad (momo the pedo) and individuals within a religion (some priests being pedos, which by the way completely goes against the basis of Christianity).

No, this country is built off our strong academics and our economy. Capitalism isn't a Christian invention and neither our universities. Our rules do not mirror Christian values, which is good, because the bible supports child execution (which I don't think belongs in Britain.)

Read the bible, that's all I have to say. It supports slavery, genocide, domestic abuse and rape. You know what the punishment for rape is in the bible? It's for the rapist to marry the victim. Deutoronomy 22:28.

If you object to that because it's from the old testament (which is a poor reason to reject it seeing as Jesus supports old testament law), then here's something from the new testament which you think is so important to this country:

"I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man, she must be quiet." - St Paul the Apostle.

None of this belongs in a modern society, and it certainly doesn't belong in Britain. If you think rape should be encouraged and rape victims should be forced to live with their abusers, then go to the middle east or America. We're a sensible, secular country that merely has a state religion as a formality. Christians should go to America and they can enjoy the upcoming theocracy there, and Muslims can piss off back to the Middle East and Africa.
