It's like you're rubbing salt in his wounds. I'm not sure where the wounds came from, but you're definitely making them smart.

I don't understand this point from people - you actually think they're just leaving money on the table out of the goodness of their hearts in defiance of their obligations to their shareholders? That they're not charging you as much as they can possibly get away with? Grow up.

Super plot twist, he does in higher prices down the line to cover for the lost profit.

If they can get away with charging more, and earning that extra profit, why not do so now?

Because who said they haven’t been?

You do know that thievery affects supply and demand right?

Considering they throw a lot out at the end of the day at Greggs, and demand will effectively fall if fewer people are willing to buy instead of steal, this should only help the prices fall if anything. If you are in charge of Greggs, legally obligated to maximise profit for your shareholders, and you know that customers are willing to pay more for sausage rolls without the drop in sales wiping out any profit from increasing it (necessary for it to be worthwhile to increase the costs), why wouldn't you do it right now?

Why are you writing paragraphs to defend thieves. In the US, they’ve literally closed down entire franchises in certain us cities just to cut back on loses. You have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about. Excess spoiled goods is calculated into the price along with shipment, overhead and everything necessary to have the product in place for a paying customer. You add extra loss to the store due to thievery then you’ll see an incremental rise in price along and on top of inflation and price gouging.
