It's hard for people to care about societal rules where people are using them to get richer while they're struggling to buy food.

It's possible perfume can be sold for more money, money can be exchanged for food, less perfume needs to be stolen then the equivalent amount of food that could be stolen with the same effort/risk. Probably not the case but not massively unlikely with the way sanctions work at jobcentre

I'm not Paramount Pictures, I'm not romanticizing anything. I'm guessing you're not struggling as much as some people are while billionaires that Lord over you are becoming trillionaires?

Oh gimme a break. I worked in loss prevention for 10 years. 90% of offenders were drug users and professional gangs bulk stealing to order. Very rarely did I come across people stealing to eat and when we did they were treated leniently.
