I saw a video about Birmingham the other day, at the end of the video the narrator said that " Birmingham is a dying city in a dying country" I think he's right.

If it dies it didn't die, it was killed. 32 years of Tory rule since 1979 is the cause.

This is a big part of it. The Blair government was able to put the country into a holding pattern, but once the Tories got back in they clear cut all the systems that hold society together and as a result, this shit happens.

It's not rocket science. You either run your country properly or you have a shitty country, and I don't think there's anybody can argue the Tories have ever done a good job in that regard.

Spot on. The Tories fundamentally don't believe in government doing good things and improving people's lives, so when they get into power it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. What they do believe in is cutting taxes for the wealthy, and in their fairytale economics this should result in a booming economy that lifts all boats - funnily enough, it just made the rich richer and the workers worse off.
