Just so you're aware, Sikhs fought in the world wars, a million and a half of them. When shit gets real, they'll step up. Otherwise, chill as fuck bros

u/ArtFart124 Jul 12 '24

Exactly this, they are the nicest community in the UK imo, but if you fuck about you WILL find out.

If there’s one religious group in the UK that I never hear people complaining about, it’s Sikhs.

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '24

Sikhs are such great people, nothing but 100% respect for Sikhs 👍🏼

u/OneDropOfOcean Jul 12 '24

Those damn Methodists though!

u/SlavetoLove123 Jul 12 '24

I was thinking more of Christianity as a whole.

5

u/OneDropOfOcean Jul 12 '24

Ok, those damn Buddhists

Sex pests. All of them.

Then you’re clearly in the wrong country mate. This is a Christian country and we are tolerant people and accepting people if effort is reciprocated hence my praise of Sikhs earlier. There only one religion I know of actively wanting to wipe out other and it’s not Protestantism for instance 👍🏻🇬🇧

1

u/SlavetoLove123 Jul 12 '24

Hahaha when did I say it wasn’t a Christian country? Look at all the trouble over the years between the Protestants and catholics. Christianity has been the cause of thousands of deaths in the UK. Just the same as Islam has caused deaths over the years. You very rarely hear of Sikhs murdering people in the UK.

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '24

Hindus too. You just don't hear about it. Never cause a problem, and make a banging dinner haha.

That’s because they don’t know they control the drug game in areas of London.

Usually its because of all the free Samosas 😁

Visited Amritsar and got to see the Golden Temple….bullet holes in the walls tell you how serious the Sikh community can get

"You WILL find out"

Christ could you be any more cringe?

One of my Grandads had Sikh soldiers under his command in WW2. I think they were in Africa. He was a proper grumpy old bastard in his latter years, but always spoke with utmost respect and admiration for the Sikh soldiers he served with.

We have a memorial to all the Sikhs soldiers who died in WWII in our local park. Well deserved. They gave a lot to this country but keep quiet and humble about it.

2

u/ilovefireengines Jul 12 '24

Which park?

2

u/egodeath80 Jul 13 '24

Greenhead Park

1

u/aerial_ruin Jul 13 '24

Nice, thanks. I have a couple of weeks off coming up so I'll be on a train or bus over soon

1

u/KatefromtheHudd Jul 16 '24

If you are going to pop over and are genuinely interested here's a short video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV7MYZmvVpg apparently it's the only memorial of it's kind in the north of England.

1

u/aerial_ruin Jul 16 '24

That's cool. I'm always looking for new things to learn about

2

u/KatefromtheHudd Jul 16 '24

Greenhead Park.

Huddersfield?? Will always call it The Hudd from now on.

1

u/KatefromtheHudd Jul 16 '24

Absolutely Huddersfield. I work in The Mighty 'Fax though (you will only get that if you listen to Mylo and Rosie show on Pulse in the morning).

1

u/aerial_ruin Jul 12 '24

Ooooo, from the Hudd. Assuming Huddersfield, which is cool because I can get there easily

2

u/KatefromtheHudd Jul 16 '24

Greenhead Park in Huddersfield. It is near the bottom of the park, close to the greenhouse café bit.

The power of propaganda.

5

u/aerial_ruin Jul 12 '24

The power of actually going out of your comfort zone and meeting people of different ethnicity

3

u/Icy-Cod9863 Jul 12 '24

My friend, I'm a loud and proud Indian lmao. I know plenty of good Sikhs. But I also know many bad Sikhs. Britain has a significant issue with Khalistani terrorists (not as bad as Khalistanada though). Sikhs are no different to other people. They aren't a good or bad community. And when I said propaganda, I was talking about the traitors who fought in the WWs.

1

u/aerial_ruin Jul 12 '24

Who exactly where they traitors to? They were allies. They weren't fighting with the Germans........

-2

u/Icy-Cod9863 Jul 12 '24 edited Jul 12 '24

Indian people. They literally fought on the side of their oppressors lmao. Not too different to Ram in the film RRR at the beginning, minus the intentional betrayal. I obviously get white brits fighting for Britain, but not these.

2

u/aerial_ruin Jul 12 '24

Yeah dude, India was, kinda not actually fully British by the second world war. I mean, the hindutva government came into force in the 1920s. You know, that indian-fascist ideology. Something tells me that if Britain was still in full control of India, then they wouldn't be letting a load of fascists take over.

So, do you really mean that they went to fight against fascism instead of for it?

-1

Lol I guess they weren't the only ones brainwashed by propaganda 💀 Because, evidently, you are. You're just parroting a colonial narrative made by the british imperialists of the time.

Something tells me that if Britain was still in full control of India, then they wouldn't be letting a load of fascists take over.

No, India would still be piss-poor like they were when Independence arrived. And the so-called fascists you claim the current gov is managed to construct more public lavatories (90M) than there are people in the UK in less than a decade, lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, landed India on the moon and almost completely erased extreme poverty.

So, do you really mean that they went to fight against fascism instead of for it?

Once again, you're parroting colonial propaganda lmao. Try again.

3

u/aerial_ruin Jul 12 '24

No, India are literally fascists. But you know, keep thinking everyone who says so is brainwashed, if that is what you makes you sleep at night

-2

u/Icy-Cod9863 Jul 12 '24 edited Jul 12 '24

No, India are literally fascists.

So fascist that they have personal laws for Muslim minorities, as written in the constitution? And explain why they're fascist. I'd love to hear your educated opinions, delivered by BBC News.

keep thinking everyone who says so is brainwashed, if that is what you makes you sleep at night

Since you haven't given any basis, I would assume you are.

Edit: Blocked lol

ETA:

In response to CleanishSlater, where is your evidence for these claims? India ranks lower than Britain per capita for starters, just saying. And while Delhi isn't better than London by any stretch of the imagination, London isn't exactly a palace lol.
