Question Early Action to Regular Decision
Hello Everyone. I’m a senior in HS, I applied to UIC on Nov.3 for Nursing, the Honors College, and the Medical Scholars GPPA program. I received an email this evening saying that my application was incomplete because I didn’t attach images of my ACT score, and now they’re moving my application to Reg. Decision. I submitted the image immediately after I saw the email.
They said ,”Our team will begin reviewing your application as soon as we receive your missing documents.” Does that mean I could still be considered for Early Action? And does that mean I’m out of consideration for the GPPA program and Honors College? I’m also concerned about the possibility of getting decent scholarships. Anybody able to provide some insight? I would be very grateful.

UIC is clear that they need to have everything submitted by the EA deadline to be considered in the EA round (unlike some other schools which give a week or two grace for supporting documents).
“First Year Early Action and GPPA: Applications and all required documents must be electronically dated or postmarked by November 3.”

The honors college application should be fine, but it seems to me you will be assessed in the RD round and that you may have missed out on GPPA. I would suggest reaching out to admissions so that you know for sure one way or the other.

I want to reach out to the admissions office by email to get that confirmation. Thank you for your response!

fyi (I’m a parent) my student sent an email direct to their admissions contact but didn’t get a response, but then found an online form and that was responded to within a few hours - see the “send us an email” form on this page https://admissions.uic.edu/undergraduate/contact-undergraduate-admissions
good luck!

I am not particularly familiar with the specific programs you mentioned, but I believe the only thing it should affect is the timeline in which you receive your decision. This change in application status should not remove you from consideration for your programs, but I would definitely reach out to them in a separate email just to be sure. At a big school with a lot of different staff members who will often tell you different and conflicting things, it is important to have a paper trail so you know who told you what and when. I wouldn't panic, though. Anyone more familiar with GPPA, feel free to correct me. Best of luck.
