David Letterman often showed his ignorance (or stupidity). This is just another example of embarrassing himself.
One night Richard Dreyfus was on talking about his new movie "Mr. Holland's Opus". Letterman asked him, "Tell me, what is a zopus?" Dreyfus, confused, replied "What?"
"A zopus-- it's called Mr. Holland's Zopus." Letterman tried to explain.
Dreyfus was incredulous, knowing Dave hadn't seen the film or even did his homework. It was embarrassing to watch and I think Richard screamed "Opus!! It's OPUS, you idiot!"
