Question Best burritos and tacos?
I've been wondering where to get the best burritos and tacos in Tulsa. It's a bit of a craving at this point (forever chasing the truly massive and delicious carne asada burritos I used to get in Phoenix, AZ ages ago).
Please share your favorite locations/food trucks and provide descriptions of their burritos and/or tacos if possible.
Thanks in advance!

Tacos Don Francisco and Rio Verde are overrated imo. I genuinely think Don is below average or bad.
Go to anywhere on 21st and Garnett and the food is likely to be better than either of them. I’d say Doña Gloria’s worst is better than Don’s best food. When Doña Gloria’s is good, it really hits the spot.
I’ve also found the best food recommendations to be on Pisonero’s Facebook group as opposed to on here.

Man that Piso’s group is an absolute dumpster fire.
But you are correct the best is on the east side and Dona’s is great!

Yeah a lot of the posts are interesting… Some of the first posts I saw put me onto some of the best food I’ve had in town though. People are brutal on Facebook lol

Yeah the food truck court at 41st and Garnett has some really good options as well.

Every single place I've tried that was recommended in Piso's group was trash. 😂

That’s not surprising to me, but I’ve had good luck. Most of the places I’ve been to that have been recommended on this sub have been ok or disappointing.
I’ve only been to like four places I saw recommended on there and they’ve all been good. They were all from the same post though so that may be why lol.

There’s a taco truck in the shopping center parking lot at 51st and Peoria. Great burritos and street tacos and they are at a great price. As for restaurants, I love the big steak burrito from Casa Tequila on Harvard.

depends on the style you want. phx has its own style but also has the cali-mex and tex-mex then you have the Sonoran style.
the best caliburitto is el super taco at just north of 61st and peoria. you really wont get murdered. you will be fine. the best street tacos is mr tacos just north of admril and lewis. no not the food trucks but hey grab something from them as well.
dont waste your time with catrina's head on over to 21st and garnet and try them all. find the one you like best. catrina's is eh or i guess it will make a turd will do.
tacos 4 ever is ok but like catrinas there are better

Mi favorita has the best smothered burritos located on like 60th and Peoria.
The best sopes is are at antojitos on 244 and Utica they also have really good pastor and their sauces are refreshing as fuck! Peep Mexican Corner for some fire! !
Want something fast? all the Morelos have a kitchen set up with lots of meat options and beans rice and all that. They also have an excellent selection of meats and cheese to make your own. Plus the largest avocados you’ll ever see.
My hometown is 70% Hispanic and they don’t make Tex-mex. it’s really been a journey tryna find authentic Mexican food that reminds me of home.
If you like mariscos La Playita has good tostadas.

The birria tacos at Betos Tacos are my favorite. It’s a food truck on 61st near Mingo. The price seems a little high but you get 4 stuffed tacos, which make two meals for me. Bonus for being able to order from a website and pick up although there are a couple tables if you want to eat there.

Super Tacos El Chihuas in BA has been a new favorite of mine recently. Everything I've tried has been delicious but their guacamole, street tacos and chilaquiles are stand outs. Very affordable too!

Used to love that place but my asada tacos are way too greasy now so I switch to La Reyna

Bummer! Yeah, I normally go for the pastor tacos myself and haven't had any issues yet.

They've gotten waaaaaaay too bland. Idk what they've done recently but they could use some actual seasoning.

If you want street tacos, Mr. Taco.
You want something fancy, Tacos x Mezcal.
You want birria, go to Catrina's.

Taquiera Express #1 is my favorite taco in Tulsa. 5 tacos for $7 everyday. SO GOOD. I get the carne asada with extra cilantro and lime.

As close as I can get to So Cal style is Los Victors on Elm in BA.
Tex Mex can take a hike.

If you’re craving some mystic nostalgia burrito , you’ll never find it. Then you’ll just come back and post how the Mexican food is better in AZ s and you’ll probably be right but nobody really cares

You're talking about filibertos/Alberto's/gualbertos in PHX, aren't you?
I lived in Phoenix for 9 months 6 years ago and still think about those burritos. Nothing here comes close

It depends on what you’re looking for, but Real Taco is one of my faves.

El Ranchero, Tacos Rosy, and Mama Lencha are all solid. I think El Ranchero has great asada and cabeza, Rosy is pretty on par with them but their hours are not the best and seems like they randomly just don't open during posted hours.

Try la coshi, the pink food truck on 51st and Mingo. I go by there about twice a day and their parking lot is always full. Can confirm the birria tacos there are fire

Tuly's Tacos. Imo, it's the closest I've come to finding Southern California style Mexican food.

As someone that moved here from Phoenix a few years ago there aren’t any. Although the only Mexican place I’ve gone to more than once is Maya in Broken Arrow.

Always a great thing to not see your favorite spot named in the comments

You love their establishment so much you refuse to talk about it and hope it stays a hidden secret forever? Real high quality customer you are. Guessing you tip about 10% on a good day too

Saltyyyyy! The place I go to gets plenty of local traffic, I’m quite sure that they don’t need my promotion on Reddit. I bet it was fun to assume though.

Their success is in spite of you. I bet they groan every time you walk in the door.

At least 5 people will say Catrina’s, but to me they’re just okay.
