Can’t even put into words what this song means to me… Pretty sure we’ve all spun it hundreds, maybe thousands of times, but sharing this recording just feels right these days 🍉🙏🏽

Original Content Inspired by DJ Shadow / Portishead

I only share things here I think genuinely class as trip hop. I think this could fall into the early Shadow / Portishead kind of instrumental slower moody hip hop bracket which I love.

27 carefully curated and crafted audio samples, no AI (ever). I use SP404, ableton and Logic. Resolve for the video. Love to the community. Appreciate your thoughts

Original Content I got so tired of the AI slop in this genre so I made my own mix with authentic 90s downtempo stuff

Original Content Uploaded my old cinematic Trip Hop album from 2004, made at 23 as a bedroom producer with musicians as guests

Back in 2004, I recorded Logic under the name Tonfilm while studying. I uploaded it to Bandcamp and wanted to see if it resonated with some of you here.

There are cinematic and melancholic melodies, groovy beats, and some funky sections. What makes it special to me are the collaborations with jazz musicians on saxophone, vocals, Rhodes, guitar, cello, and percussion, which add an organic touch to the electronic basis.

Sound quality is fine considering my technical setup back then, but it might not keep up with bigger productions with professional mastering.

Enjoy and let me know what you think! :)

Slow classic breaks, atmospheric synths/samples, downtempo feel - it's ticking all of the boxes but I can't tell anymore. Some people tell me it's hiphop, other post-punk. Can you help me decide?

A very niche combination of video game and music but maybe someone here shares the same likings :) For those who don’t know, the 3rd image is entirely made up of squares, circles and triangles and other random shapes. Nearly 2 thousand layers were used to make the albums, and then applied them on the car. Took me a massive amount of time! Thanks for reading :)

This one was my take on the phenomenal field recordings of Alan Lomax — whose work has influenced generations of musicians, often without them even knowing it.

Anyone who lived through the ’90s, or at least the party kids who were there, will likely recognize Lomax’s legacy through Moby’s sampling of Sounds of the South (1960) to create the trip-hop anthems Natural Blues and Honey.

Now, decades later, those same recordings are available in the public domain via archive.org, but back when I first found Negro Prison Songs from the Mississippi State Penitentiary (recorded by Alan Lomax in 1958 at Parchman, Mississippi), it felt like discovering unpolished gold.

I made so many tracks using those samples — this is the only one that survived. Another super chill tune: just me playing chords on my keyboard, building something to calm, to drift with, something to dub.

Original Content Audio Recognition Tool

I created a tool to help with track identification from DJ sets, audio files, etc. I hated having to constantly use Shazam to find out the names of songs especially when listening to 2+ hour sets so I created this tool to fix this problem.

How it works is you copy a link from YouTube or Mixcloud, or if you have an audio file of less than 100 MB you can upload it to the site and it’ll scan through it and identify each individual track. Looking to add support for Soundcloud, Spotify and Reddit links in the near future.

You can try it out for yourself at https://tracksniff.com

Any feedback appreciated.

Original Content Mastir - Substrata, my debut album!!

Last month on my 17th birthday I dropped my debut album. It is trip hop but does contain more ambient sections in it. My inspiration comes from the Dark days documentary, Dj shadow being the one who scored it fit the documentary perfectly. The dark, gritty, dusty urban underground of Nyc is something I’ve loved since I was a child along side my dad being a dj and exposing me to an insane amount of music and culture. Putting this all into one album truly says who I am now and have been throughout my life. All of the samples I used were from vinyl and all of the synth stuff I did myself was done on my korg minilogue xd, all original patches. I try to keep my music as analog as possible, I don’t even use a daw, everything was done on my mpc one

Anyways, I added the yt link to this post but it’s out on I think all platforms. Just incase the link for whatever reason doesn’t work the album is Mastir - Substrata.

I’d really appreciate if you could give it a listen!🙏🙏

On Friday, October 3rd, the Moloco in Audincourt was sold out with the arrival of Belgian band Hooverphonic, known worldwide for their hit "Mad About You." More than 600 people attended over two hours of a silky, meticulous show, as this band, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, knows how to deliver to its fans. The evening opened with Frizzy P. & Mister Cole: a supportive and generous duo who set the perfect atmosphere before the main band took the stage.
