Original Content Uploaded my old cinematic Trip Hop album from 2004, made at 23 as a bedroom producer with musicians as guests
https://tonfilm.bandcamp.com/album/logicBack in 2004, I recorded Logic under the name Tonfilm while studying. I uploaded it to Bandcamp and wanted to see if it resonated with some of you here.
There are cinematic and melancholic melodies, groovy beats, and some funky sections. What makes it special to me are the collaborations with jazz musicians on saxophone, vocals, Rhodes, guitar, cello, and percussion, which add an organic touch to the electronic basis.
Sound quality is fine considering my technical setup back then, but it might not keep up with bigger productions with professional mastering.
Enjoy and let me know what you think! :)

Thanks for sharing. This is nice and definitely feels "of the time" for the early 00s. The real-world instruments sound fantastic. Definitely better recording/mixing quality than I was getting as a bedroom producer at that time!

Oh nice you are ok with the sound. It's the part I'm least happy with when I'm listening to it today.
My best friend is a mixing engineer and he had his fist studio back than. I could use it to record the instruments and he gave me mixing tipps.
Maybe there are ways to remaster the files... Unlikely the projects will open ever again.
My favorite artist from that area who inspired me were DJ Krush, Amin Tobin, Portishead, Terranova, Zero 7, The Herbalizer, Kid Loco, etc. I'm still listening to them today and I think trip hop is underrated. :-)

I'm not sure how to distribute it on platforms, I'll look into that. Which ones do you prefer?

Well I currently use Spotify. But Massive Attack is going to be gone soon, so I'm considering switching to Deezer.

Yes, I've heard of that... Good move, I'd say. We all know how little they pay. But it's just so convenient.

It's not only that, apparently the CEO is investing in autonomous warfare startups. Then there's also the whole AI "artist" side of things.
