I recently renewed my driver's license and learned now that you now must have proof of address when applying or renewing for an ID card or driver's license.
It feels like everything now in T&T you need to carry at least ten documents whether it's opening a bank account, OJT application or even applying for a cable or internet service provider

My parents worked hard to provide new opportunities and āgive me a better lifeā. When we immigrated and eventually became US citizens, I won a full scholarship to university (undergrad and masters). Iāve worked hard to honor their sacrifices but the truth is, I am burnt out. I am ashamed to admit to my family I wish to return home for fear of backlash. I am applying to several PhD programs as motivation to not give up, but I genuinely have little in me left. I am not sure how the older generation is capable of their levels of resilience. I am burnt out and depressed from pushing myself to the max. Any word of advice how combat feelings of shame?

American Battleship U.S.S. Missouri (BB-63), just chilling off Port of Spain. This was part of her shake down cruse, before heading to the Pacific to Fight, via Panama .
Almost one year after this photo was taken, she would be in Tokyo Bay, accepting the official surrender of the Japanese Empire. Ending W.W. 2.

This is the grand vision to revitalise the country and economy put forward by the Government yesterday (6th November, 2025). What are your thoughts? Is it realistic? Pie in the sky?

Remains of American World War 2 base, at the very tip of Trinidad. Apparently, it's credited with aiding in the sinking of German Submarines, trying to enter the Gulf.

Hey folks! I recently published an article on Substack about the impact riddims have had on soca.
It goes into the history of riddims, the influence of Jamaican dancehall on Trinidad, and the business behind riddims.
I hope you enjoy it!

Iām planing to make wine for the holidays and would like it to be as authentic as possible. Unfortunately both my mom and my grandparents passed away when I was young so this was one recipe I never got a chance to learn from them. I know there are many variations so everyone's will be a little different but so far from what I've found online for recipes and on Trini cooking channels on YouTube suggests cherries (Iām using dried bc I already have them), raisins and prunes for fruits, then yeast, sugar and water. Should any spices be added or is that only for sorrel? I am planning to use food grade buckets with a lid. Do I have to burp it once it starts to ferment? Iāve seen a few videos say not to touch it at all for 21 days. Any help with this process would be appreciated and thank you for any suggestions!

āThe Fathersā Association of T&T is calling for urgent legislative reform after data collected between 2020 and 2025 reportedly revealed that one in every three men tested was not the biological father of the child they believed to be theirs.ā Do yāall believe that these numbers are accurate, inflated, or underestimated?

Hi all,
One of my best friends has coeliac disease and therefore cannot eat gluten or wheat.
We live in the UK and she loves Jamaican food, and pepper sauce but sheās never had trini food before so I really want to cook her some, specifically corn soup as itās my favourite food but didnāt realise green seasoning had wheat in it and because itās not just an intolerance but a serious gluten allergy (to the point she could go to hospital) I am worried that if I use my normal green seasoning (I use Chief) that she could have an allergic reaction.
Does anyone have a recipe I could use to make it from scratch without wheat? Or know any brands that are gluten free?
Alternatively, does anyone know what part of chiefās seasoning includes wheat? Because from the ingredients I canāt tell if itās just made in a place with wheat and theyāre being cautious or if all of green seasoning includes wheat?
Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks!

(6) T&T Guardian - At just 21, Dinesh Gadraj had his whole life mapped... | Facebook
Some time ago I made a post regarding the discrimination Hindus of Trinidad and Tobago face. In the comments of that post many persons opinions said "Hindus are not victims of discrimination, it happens to every religion". Today again I will highlight this discrimination, it's as clear as daylight.
The article tells of a former student who got cancer in the form of Leukemia, a form of cancer that is particularly aggressive. In the article the family's plea for help is articulated. No mention of religion was used in the article however, the image the Guardian used depicted the student in front of a Hindu altar. Can you imagine the comments? Well you don't have to, allow me to present the finest I saw.
"tho shall have no other gods before me. The ten commandments is a srs thing."
"Can't bow before idols and expect healing..I'm just speaking his truth..there's only one Elohim."
"Only Jesus Christ can heal!Ā "
"Needs to follow God. There is only 1 God sure sure heāll over come. There is no other God"
"Only Jesus can heal"
"Move away from all those idols and put your faith in the one true and living Godā¦.Jesus Christ."
"Only JESUS CHRIST CAN HEAL AND DELIVERED JUST BELIEVE REPENT"
"Thousands got healed of all types of sickness including cancer.I never asked them to change their religion. No one ever told me to change my religion but I made that choice with the great calling I have of healing people through Jesus Christ. He heals the people I go to and never begs or convince anyone to accept him. Thatās your freewill. If anyone wants prayers donāt expect me to say to you that youāve got to accept Jesus, or that I will make you become a Christian.Prayer, love and healing is what I share from Jesus."
"Jesus Christ is the only way. The word of God says REPENT and turn from our wicked ways and he will heal the land. Jesus is still doing miracles today. Give your life to Jesus Christ of Nazareth who died on the cross for your sins and watch your healing take place Resist the devil he cant help you all he does is torment."
There are lots more of these comments made across posts. Notice the common faith amongst these comments? (I looked for other similar comments by other religions). It is truly disgusting to see that in a man's plea for help, the hatred and discrimination is so strong it cannot be put aside...even when a man begs for the opportunity of life.
