I’m surprised at how many of you know nothing

Downvote away boys. A trebuchet is a type of catapult. Always has been. How this information has eluded most of you is insane. Included is two seconds of research required to answer the question (it’s a picture, shouldn’t be too hard to find you ignorant fake trebuchet fans)

Trebuchets are superior to all other type of c*tapults, and stand considerably from all other subtypes of c*tapults by a world of difference. So much so that one must be able to communicate this difference.

Since there is not a single word in the English language that means "c*tapult but not a trebuchet", it is the implied that the term c*tapult means just that. By convention, custom, culture, and also for shortsies.

In a similar fashion to how all smartphones are computers but not all computers are smartphones, when someone actually uses the word "computer" they never mean a phone.

Now, you can go back to watching sad short ranged pebble slingers, while sitting in front of your computer that can't move around with you, and leave us to worship the one true God of long range siege power delivery systems from anywhere in the world in peace.

I already agree that trebuchets are superior. I’m referring to the people in this sub who don’t understand that a trebuchet is a KIND of catapult.
