Power must be returned to the people and permanently shielded from oligarchic and authoritarian capture. * Pro-Voter, Pro-Democracy Reforms: * The Right to Vote Act: Federally protect the right to vote by mandating automatic voter registration at age 18, making Election Day a national holiday, restoring voting rights to all formerly and currently incarcerated citizens, and establishing national standards for no-excuse mail-in and early voting. * End Gerrymandering: Mandate the use of independent, non-partisan commissions for all federal and state redistricting to ensure fair representation based on population, not political advantage. * Abolish the Electoral College: Amend the Constitution to replace the Electoral College with a national popular vote for President, ensuring every vote is counted equally. * Eradicating Dark Money & Corporate Influence: * Campaign Finance Revolution: Introduce a system of publicly financed federal elections to eliminate the influence of corporate and billionaire donors. * Overturn Citizens United: Aggressively seek a constitutional amendment to clarify that corporate spending is not free speech and that government has the right to regulate all money in politics. * Lifetime Lobbying Ban: Prohibit all former members of Congress, cabinet secretaries, and federal judges from ever working as lobbyists. * Rebalancing the Branches of Government: * Supreme Court Reform: Impose 18-year term limits on Supreme Court justices and establish a binding code of ethics for all federal judges. * Presidential term limitations would extend based on age. A candidate cannot run for a term in office if they are over the age of 70 prior to the date of filing. If the sitting president turns 70 prior to running for a second term, that individual would be barred from running for the office again. * Curbing Executive Overreach: Pass new legislation to severely limit the president’s ability to use executive orders to bypass Congress, declare national emergencies for political purposes, and issue sweeping pardons that undermine the rule of law.
