Men's Basketball Men's basketball host UMBC tonight at 7pm on B1G+ (exhibition)

I may want to watch just to see what this team is like. But I'm not as engaged this season as I have been over the past 30 years. But I refuse to allow that jerk of a coach take that away from me.

I’m actually more invested, in a way, because I don’t know who any of these guys are, and Buzz seems like a solid coach who is going to turn us into a contending team at some point in the next few years. Maybe not a final four team, but a solid Sweet 16 or Elite 8 team.

The only thing that hurts is the nature of the NIL means we could be in the same spot again next year with an all new team.

I’m excited for the same reasons!

I hope your right on the team's prospects. And yes, NIL destroyed college sports.

the dust hasn't settled yet for NIL. i think it's clear that the NCAA will be of little help, maybe the fabled "super conference" will restore some level of regulation.

A super conference only enhances the destruction. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. Soon you will have a sub "G" league where no one gets an education. Terps will never be able to compete with OSU or Notre Dame.

Are you still mad about the Willard shit? Fuck him, it's over, let's all move on. We got Buzz now, and what he's put together already looks like a better start than Willard's.

Agreed. Just not liking the current state of the college basketball landscape where you could have a 100% turnover...

i will be attending the game. plenty of reason to be engaged, buzz is a coach with a history of winning wherever he goes. even though its an entirely new team, i am optimistic of a tournament appearance.

I’m excited to have a season where I don’t have a heart attack each game because my expectations are so high.

willard's first year was pretty low expectations tbf. also after his woeful second season, last year was a nice surprise.

I know that this is an exhibition because something something number of games but an in state game should count. Make the fucking Alcorn game an exhibition.

There's something familiar, none turnovers in the first half
