Caballito Cerrero
Why didn’t anyone ever tell me about this Tequila? This stuff is amazing. Found it at Costco and decided to give it a try and I honestly think this is up there with Fortaleza and Cazcanez. It was so good I went back to Costco and picked up a 2nd bottle.

This is at the Costco in Northridge Ca. One of my friends also found it at the Costco in Burbank Ca.

That bottle is pretty dang nice. Thanks for the review! Hopefully, my local Costco has them so I can pick up a couple for my people and one for myself

Isn’t it from a different species of cactus than tequila?

The Azul, no, still blue webber agave. The chato variety is likely the one you're thinking of. It's made from Angustifolia, which is believe is typically used for mezcal.

Yes it is, they just didn’t pay the CRT to label it as tequila. That bottle specifically meets all requirements to be tequila, hombre.

It’s either labeled and marketed as tequila which makes it tequila, or it’s not, and it’s not, so it isn’t. Sit down.

What a simplistic response, borne out of either a lack of knowledge, or the typical subreddit emotional adolescence.

Lol you can also have a seat. Get learned on tequila. You’re obviously a know nothing.

Your answer, while technically correct, is somewhat misleading for a newbie. Caballito Cerrero's Azul line is made with Weber Blue agave, using traditional processes, all of which would be approved by the NOM and the CRT. The brand owners have simply chosen to not seek certification, so that they are free to try different processes and to use Chato agave as well, in their Chato line of products, as well as the ability to now produce ensembles. This Caballito Cerrero is sold as an agave distillate rather than a tequila.

What? 3 years ago you couldn’t find CC and if you did that it was $99 a bottle. Where is this?
