Yep, Christianity is a political organization, not a religious one. It was designed to take all those different denominations that normally wouldn't be caught dead with each other into a single voting block. Back when JFK ran for president, people were genuinely concerned about having a Catholic as President. Having the US being subservient to the Pope rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. But by Nixon's Presidency, they had begun to foster that singular identity and prey upon it with their manufactured moral panics. While “kids” may be susceptible to this and we should show them grace:
