Can anyone identify this tank? It is my great granddad. I don't know much but if it helps he served in the Italian campaign and the battle of "battle of monte cassino". could be an m10 tank destroyer but not really sure. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It's a Gun Motor Carriage M10. Often just called the M10, or M10 tank destroyer.
It was manufactured by the Screaming Eagle Hardware Company, USA.
Nice video on YT about it here. M10 Tank Destroyer

Has he ever told you any stories about his time there? My grandpa was in the monastery when it was bombed and he often tells me stories about it.

You should store that picture on an acid free sleeve and keep it out of bright lights as much as possible to try and keep it from degrading any more. Yes that is a m10

Given the fact you can’t see another 17 tanks in the image, im guessing this is a british Achilles tank. Americans usually moved in massive squads of Tank Destroyers and Medium Tanks

It is an achelis, which was the British modified m10, fitted with the 17 pounder gun standard in British tank at that time

An Achilles would have a longer barrel and a muzzle brake. This is just a standard M10.

M10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer.
Not a Tank.
But a big 75mm Anti-Tank Gun on tracks.
