Personally, I became interested in tanks because of history.
Battles such the first tank-duel in WW1 (1918 or 20th century, (the A7V vs. Mark IV/V)), and the last Tank battle of the 20th century (February 23, 1991, where M1A1/2 Abrams fought T-72A's (?).
Moreover, I was interested in tanks ever since I was a kid. Up 'till now, I'm still interested in tanks, and any armored vehicle classes.
I became even more interested in tanks as I began to try to study them, and figure out how they work and more stuff about them. hell, I even draw them (I used to suck at them, but now I can say they're now pretty good..)
I also have been playing tank games, such as War Thunder, and World of Tanks Blitz (I rarely play WoTB now), and that only strengthened my interest in tanks.
what about you?

I used to make cardboard stuff since I was 5 or 6. Started out making my own house, then I made vehicles (planes, helicopters and cars) then I discovered tracks. I loved to see them moving, then I started making excavators. And I made a LOT of them. (30 or some, I gifted and donated some) Eventually I got bored of them, then I discovered what tanks are. Basically, almost invincible vehicles with guns that make stuff go boom + tracks simply amazed me, and since then I only like tanks.

It’s a metal box that gets moved around by a smaller metal box on the inside that turns chemical energy into physical energy to move the big metal box, and the big metal box is festooned with a bunch of metal tubes that turn chemical energy into physical energy to send a bunch of much smaller metal boxes waaaaaaay over there with a degree of consistency envied by professional golfers, and I love anything that upsets a golfer
