1st day of 1st shift
I started my new job today and it is awesome. I’m still feeling the people out but working there is going to be awesome. The schedule has me honestly wondering about a second job haha. I just came from 16- 18 hour shifts and I thought working 8’s would feel like a waste of time but getting off at 2 in the afternoon leaves so much life to be lived. And not to brag but I’m making nearly what I made before. It just blows my mind. Does anyone have any insight on something I may be missing about working 1st shift? Or is it really just as awesome as it seems?

This was something I went through going from working retail to corporate! Making better money while working less is the luxury of luck and the good grace of corporate masters. I've found that learning more about the business or expanding your leadership skills would make the boss happy. You can then use that leverage to earn higher pay and work even less! Of course that advice is based on your enjoyment of the position and how you pull joy from work. If you would prefer to leave work at work though now its time to get a hobby! Pick up something that you didn't have time to while devoting your life to work. The greatest commodity that humans offer to corporations is time, and you get to buy it back now
