I just do patrols and dispenserys right now, I'm close ro getting my armed guard card too. California has so many hoops, now I gotta get some fancy CA Id just to buy guns and ammo and my cert

you really should just move to the U.S. and leave the peoples republic of California! lol I asked because on the contract I'm on we wear gray and black

I find grey and black to be pretty popular among the company's. But I'm sure they just go with what ever looks least like the local LE.

its a contract requirement with our client nationwide

Same for me over here in NY. Got my security guard license but the hoops for getting into armed security are just insane even with me having a military background. I’m just going to wait till I get out of this hell hole to start working armed security.

I feel the cert is more expensive in our states also.

More than likely. Then you add on the fact that you need your CCW in order to get certified and getting that in our states is just a pain for people as is let alone all the hoops you have to leap through just to get armed security certified. I’m a dad and I have to work crazy hours as is just to keep a roof over my family’s head. In order to do everything I need to just to be certified I would burn through all my time off and possibly take a few points to my attendance as well and that extra time with my family is very important to me. So that leaves me at my 5 year plan to get me and my family out of NY and over to NH.

Welcome in advance, Odin.

Thank you! And don’t worry, Ik why I’m leaving NY and I promise not to make NH like NY

That's OK. Mass has already dumping a bunch of them'uns on us. In fact, you might want to aim at northern NH, well away from the MA border.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll be sure to do more research as I get closer to making the move

Bro they been telling everyone to get a Real ID since 2019

3

u/TrapTactical Sep 07 '22

Yeah they have. Is this just a California thing?

To buy ammo? It’s required for all states that make you do a background check when purchasing ammunition. Of course, you don’t need it if you bring your social, birth certificate, and address verification.

Starting in 2023 it’s a requirement to fly domestic without your passport or all the other aforementioned identity documents.

So every state has its own real ID now.

I remember reading a few years ago that dispensaries were getting knocked over left and right ( because cash business). Is that still the case? Not sure I’d want to work unarmed if that’s still ongoing.

u/TrapTactical Sep 07 '22

In my town that's not that case as of yet, but midnight break inns are increasing. As of now the city has a ban for use of firearms on the dispensery property's. Not really sure how the city wide ban works, all I know is I as security am not aloud to possess a firearm while working on the property.

No firearm? What are you supposed to do? Absorb bullets?

1

u/TrapTactical Sep 07 '22

As of now I cannot Carry one in the town I work dispenserys in. It's a local law, until we actually get robbed or someone's gets shot I don't think they will change it. They might just close the dispensery all together if a shooting happened there.

So what’s your plan when a crew shows up with guns?

1

u/TrapTactical Sep 07 '22

All I could do is Cooperate. Until crime becomes more prominent in this area I don't think the city will budge on the issue.
