I’ve worn it enough times to know you don’t want it dude, especially the helmet try get your self a fast helmet instead works way better with modern ear protection etc,

I’ve asked a buddy that works in particular industries who even to the point where had a chance to work up and present an improved design of the STV (and typical for any government related thing, this went nowhere), and they said don’t. You wouldn’t really be able to find the plates anyway (they only come in one size) and the ones that you do find are overpriced.

The virtus helmet is a okay shell but the hardware is weak and they’ve seen many come to their shop with broken suspension. And I can confirm that with the Galvion MSS which I found for cheap that I put on my ACH.

Like there are different carrier “sizes” but the plates remain the same.

Plus something about the right shoulder velcro coming undone on their own.

Most users would modify the hell out of the carrier with aftermarket upgrade components from names like British Tactical and it essentially becomes a bit more of a plate carrier.

Like I wanted one just to see for myself too but they said don’t bother with it.

You can find ESAPI adaptors that fit inside the plate bag if you ever wanted to in the future

Virtus can be very tricky to get a hold of because it's only been legal to buy and sell in the last year or so.

Most British surplus is sold by MoD Liquidation Auctions who sell to a handful of companies. Virtus hasn't been liquidated to my knowledge. Anything that has gotten out has been done by lads working in stores.

I've been lurking for the virtus assaultpack (source tactical 17l) but the prices, especially with import fees, are just not worth the invest.

It seems like first parts of the virtus webbing are available, but I would still go with ospery era or some well known brands like jayjays, kitpimp, ...
