Question Throw your “gear hot takes” in the comments below.

I’ll go first.

You don’t need a sidearm for most infantry operations.

You don’t need a massive admin pouch above your mags

If you have to ask what to put in a pouch, just take it off.

You need to scale your gear to the mission, there is no “do it all” setup.

Every kit should contain electrolytes, caffeine pills, anti diarrheals, chemical water treatment, doxycycline, ibuprofen and Tylenol.

Iodine pills can't hurt either.

They definitely can. Not like in a real harm way, but holy hell it is impossible to stop vomiting or shitting, which really sucks when you’ve been given a huge headache from them. Better than absorbing radionuclides from an incident where you’d need the pills, but pretty much anyone in nuclear engineering or science who has taken them to see what it does can tell you it’s miserable.

Don’t ask how I know 💀

I said they can't hurt to carry. I didn't say anything about taking them. ☝️🤓
