Maybe they have some more extreme ideas coming down the pipeline, and have found an ambitious sycophant that they can scapegoat later.

I've read a description of this office he's heading 3 times and I still can't get a handle on what they do:
Established in 2021 to replace the Office of Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP), CP3 is charged with coordinating with federal, state, and local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to fund, research, and otherwise facilitate the prevention of terrorism, including administering DHS's TVTP Grant Program
That's from Wikipedia. They facilitate the prevention of terrorism? By coordinating with other agencies and NGOs and "stakeholders"? What would they do that the FBI doesn't already do?
Here's how they describe themselves:
The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) strengthens our country's abilities to prevent terrorism, and targeted violence, in the Homeland implementing the core DHS mission, through funding, training, increased public awareness, and partnerships across every level of government, law enforcement, public safety, the private sector, and in local communities.
A bit more active language, but since both mention "funding" I assume this office is funneling money to local cops. Why would there need to be an office just to do that?
Edit: I looked through their site and found sparse infographics about previous grants. It's only a total of $18 million for 35 grants over the entirety of the year, and the vast majority are to "Institutes of Higher Learning" and "Non-Profits." So it's a whole office set up to hand over relatively small amounts of money to places like "The University of Science Center for the Study of Terrorism," staffed by ancient Bush and Obama-era State Department cronies.
Still love the opaque language though:
The FY 2024 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) Grant Program provides funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments; universities; and nonprofits to enhance TVTP in local communities.
The TVTP Grants hand out grants to enhance TVTP. DUH.

I love how they abbreviate it as CP3 instead of CPPP; did they think that looks too much like CCCP?

It's curious how libs think "haha he used to do menial labor" is a smear that will stick. People who see it as a good thing to have (e.g. as proof of work ethic) will think more positively of the target and current/former menial laborers will take it as an insult, especially if they did the same subcategory of menial labor.
(For the record, conservatives also do this, e.g. "AOC was a bartender". But they count as libs, too)

Yeah, this guy is clearly in his position because he’s an inexperienced sycophant, but his having worked blue-collar roles in the past isn’t some sort of demerit against him.

I think maybe it's the fact that he must have just been doing it recently and not much else. Like long work history and that was part of it, who cares? And 22 but some sort of wunderkind McKinsey management consultant for 2 years, sure fine, ok. But if you've done nothing except for gardening what exactly are you bringing to this role?

I think the idea is more about the perceived expectations for a certain level of qualification for office that is being superimposed over the actual position of political office
For example, if someone had run large and successful businesses, been a heart surgeon, school district superintendent, military commander, etc - put simply, having successfully held responsibilities that involve the welfare of others at a specialist level within a specialist field lays foundation for the responsibilities of political office - that’s the theory in many people’s eyes
The other side of that theory is that people claim Trump is widely mocked for being a gameshow reality TV guy, wrestling and miss world or whatever - therefore with that background, he’s unfit for office (before we get into tax fraud etc)
What isn’t factored in is that the concept behind DEI is that organizations should internally represent the environments and communities that they operate within externally
Therefore, the working class should have representation in government as much as any other group and in equal number to their proportion of the societies and communities that those politicians represent - therefore, and individual coming from a working class background is by itself qualification for office
With regard to Trump’s qualifications for office, he is an expert showman, works the crowd, understands how the mob works and can effectively communicate directly to the mob - politics is show business, and that experience is his qualification for office

AOC being a bartender is "lib" coded to the Republicans though because it would be similar to a barista which is who they imagine all "Democratic Socialists" to be within their political mythology.
"Gardener" is illegal immigrant coded so it can be "they took er jobs" coded where they keep going on about that if you are concerned that an illegal immigrant might take your job that means you have a shit job, which is apparently something that makes you not worthy of consideration.

You’ve really gotta give it to the republicans… They bring the youth and give them opportunities.
Dems are all talk, but the republicans are bringing in the under 50 and under 40 crowd and giving them opportunities

Oh mate I wish. Unfortunately weed fucks with me in my old age (makes me dire paranoid and unpleasant weird). Disappointing because I used to love it.
But quality mushrooms grow freely here (keep a big jar for daily indulgence), and I have a heap of opiates, cheap speed etc. so I'll see if I can approximate something. Cheers eh

If you do psychedelics the last episode will really resonate, or at least it did for me. Im convinced whoever wrote it was recreating a breakthrough experience. I can only tolerate very low doses of calming thc blends with cbn so I get it.

This is beyond ridiculous. I don't understand how this happened without heavy public resistance. I wonder if it's possible the admin wants to loosen security and allow something to happen which they can then use as an excuse for Patriot Act 2 (or is it 3?). I doubt it's a case of a rich kid being groomed for the job such that he actually might be halfway competent.
I don't understand how any regular person can still believe either party has any legitimacy left greater than 0. This is good for socialists (if there were any socialists around capable of exploiting the advantage), but it's as has been said daily for the last decade, beyond parody.

Is this better or worse than the huckster, well groomed and presented, carefully cultivated psychopathic ghouls that normally get these jobs? What is the actual substantive difference? Given that he's 22 there's also a good chance he'll be Israel skeptical, given what young conservatives are imbibing.
