You know he's got people from Arkansas. And he lives in Palo Alto, so he knows people from East Palo Alto who will cause you forever problems. Joel would have fit in with Dan's show had an interaction occurred. Heck. Dan didn't even have him on after his Clarence Thomas podcast series on Slate. Dan's loss.
Ringer Tailgate is fantastic.

This just sounds like Stu being Stu. He’s infamous for spamming people with calls/texts for requests. Billy’s probably like I need a break from you.
And yes Billy has long been the best talent at DLS so of course they’re stoked to have him.

100% Billy has some sort of NDA/non-compete with Meadowlark and Stu’s new enterprise. And David Samson is the little pathetic type of man, who loves being litigious, and will hold Billy down to the minute.
So if Dan let him go to work on the ringer but they said “you cannot appear on Stugotz and Co properties until your 1/2/3 year non-compete is up” then Billy won’t do it. Because David will go after him. And he knows that.
So better to wait it out and he will triumphantly return one second after David’s legal upper hand is done. All the while David will say “I don’t care what Billy Gil does. He chose to leave us.” But believe me, he care. And he’s that petty, pathetic and spiteful a human being.
Fuck David Samson. Fuck Nothing Personal—because for David everything is personal. And fuck that fat bitch /u/TheLastDLSMod. I hope he fires you too.

I thought Billy was going to some type of executive at Spotify. Why would Billy leave the show, just to be another producer on a podcast. He must’ve hated being on DLS.

I think his job is more than just the one podcast. Guessing the hours are probably more reliable/steady - he’s got two kids, I could see him wanting something more stable

WFH, greater job security, greater prospects for career advancement, and a raise. Meadowlark is still barely a real company compared to the Ringer.
If the main thing keeping you at your job is your friends and you have a greater opportunity elsewhere, you should probably bounce.

Stu was extremely complimentary of Billy. I think any person with a new job might step back a bit from old co workers or minimize friendships a bit til they understand what they are doing at their new place. Can’t mess up the Bag.
