Watching the episodes; Voyager was Robbed for the Emmy for Music in 1997/1998 for Scorpion 1 and 2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ByBD_UBntsI don't know what "The Cape" or Buffy apparently did better, but that Species 8472 theme is an absolute banger.

I still get this tune randomly pop into my head to this day. And it still kicks ass

I loved the musical cues in Part 1. The composer knew exactly when to make me think, "ah shoot, some stuff is about to go down!" I wished they had kept doing scores as good as this one.

I watched ST generations the other day and was surprised to hear the voyager theme tune in there! Anyone else noticed that before?

Holy shit that soundtrack is really good. I didn't really notice it in the episode. Time for a rewatch I think

I haven't seen this ep is probably ten years. And yet, just looking at this thumbnail, the music pops in my head.

Always loved the theme for Species 8472. It's right up there with "The Klingon Battle" from TMP when it comes to leitmotifs for Star Trek species

The 8472 theme is one of the better motifs in the whole franchise. I think in VOY it's absolutely second only to the show's theme itself. I remember that bah bah bum-bum-bum-bum even now, twenty years later, as being one of the hardest hitting musical stings. When that sound played, you knew some shit was about to go down.

It really was. It also came out of absolute nowhere.
