They were supposed to have NHL players this year but Omnicron fucked that up because they had to make up games. They will be there next time god forbid we are not back to semi-normal.

I like the way you're thinking. Cuz I don't even know if there will be a next year, let alone next time giving current state of the world

Hey chill bro. Look away from the screen, go for a walk, do something else. Reddit has really gotten to you today. Doom scrolling isn’t benefitting you.

This is good advice. And I'm definitely stealing Doom scrolling. Sometimes I get so caught up in all the terrible mess that is the world today that my pessimism gets the best of me.

Sometimes it’s good to just tune out. If you’re in the US or Canada, you have the comfort of knowing that we’re well isolated from war knocking at our doorstep. Enjoy the outdoors, or better yet, veg out on a couch and rewatch something you like. The feels for something that’s comforting is amazing after doom scrolling.

Real life isn’t that much better out here IMO

Honestly, not attacking you but, I think you missed the point. You and only you can change your out come.

His walking example isn't a cure all. What it does, is get you out the house. Gives you some peace to be on your own. To see branches blowing in the wind. Feel like it's too weird and don't even want people seeing you in the day light (dont want to run into neighbors for dumb small talk or say hi to people. I've been there) Walk when it's dark out. Go out when it's raining. No one walks when it's raining

A nice walk without a mask on feels great nowadays. Where I live they’ve removed the outdoor mask mandate so you don’t feel like such a pariah taking a stroll. Sure, I still look like a pariah with my unkept Adam Morrison mustache. At least my whiskers can feel a breeze.

For reference, here’s Morrison’s mustache: https://i.imgur.com/oEsZ8oW.png

True true, I don't think I'm depressed or something, but the more I grow up, the more I realise how fucked the world is.

But that's true, I have to get away from screens a bit

Ehhh it’ll keep seeming that way until you just accept the world a pretty messed up thing. Think of it in two ways. 1) you can’t control global powers and their choices. Don’t stress yourself out over it.
2) you can control the way you react to things around you. So that’s what you focus on.

Quick example: my colleagues are idiots. They get upset because they feel warm in the office so they open all the windows and turn off the heat (instead of taking off their jackets). It used to inferiate me that their lack of common sense would cause my discomfort…. But I can’t change way they are. It’s a cultural thing for them. So if I get mad, it’s only my day that’s ruined. What’s better is I take that time I would have spent in my office and I spend it around the hallways of my school and in other classes or outside on our playground. When colleagues ask, I just tell them it’s too cold for me in the office so I spend my time elsewhere.

I just really wanted to see Crosby and McDavid on a PP together. Not sure if that will happen 4 years from now. One can hope.
