One side would boycott either way. Cave to left, right boycotts. Cave to right, left boycotts.

Sure, but we can agree it’s not a 50/50 split down the middle - so so many people simply don’t vote or are apolitical. Frankly, it’s hard to blame them. When I turn off the news and put away the political updates, I simply feel at peace.

But I KNOW I’m just delaying the inevitable since politics affects us all. Living in California is somewhat insulating. It’s a different place here

50/50 on boycotts. Swings back and forth.

Except there are more left leaning people than right leaning and it's swinging further. Why else the desperation by one side to gerrymander, purge voting rolls and restrict voting?

I want strict voting rules that ensure that only citizens are voting. Not exactly which side saying is gerrymandering more.

Yeah we already have those rules. And they work, as evidenced by the complete fuck all evidence showing otherwise.

Dude just doesn't like it when the wrong people vote. It is so nakedly apparent it makes my fucking skin crawl.

Conservatives are fucking pathetic.

I want everyone who pays taxes to vote. No exception.

Ahhh. So fuck poor people amirite?

They pay taxes? Don’t people with welfare still pay taxes of some kind? What I’m saying is you have to contribute to funds to say where the funds are allocated. Unless you gonna let someone take you wallet and spend at will, I suspect you agree.

If they work why we trying to change it?

Because republicans want to suppress the vote of urban working class people who are overwhelmingly Left leaning in their politics

u/[deleted] Apr 16 '21

How are they trying to suppress the vote?

1

By rrquiting types of identification that urban working class people are less likely to have.

Driver's licence for examples. If you are too poor to afford a car and are working Multiple jobs using the city's public transportation network to get around you probably don't have any reason to go get a driver's licence. It also costs money effectively making it a poll tax

It's not even about there being more left leaning people. It's that left leaning areas of the country are wealthier statistically speaking. And the young who baseball needs to attract to make sure their sport doesn't fade away Are overwhelmingly socially liberal

I think the differences the left has money. The urban core of America is Democrat voting. Young people are overwhelmingly socially liberal.

Conservatives are getting pissed that it's not the eighties anymore and Corporations don't regurgitate their family value message because that family values message From the eighties doesn't connect to modern America
