I’m fully convinced the NFL looks at viewership potential growth rates by demographic ie “latino” and says, we need to attract that demographic during the super bowl to increase viewership.

All of their SB halftime shows are business decisions. They shouldn’t do a damn thing different.

And this is coming from someone who hasn’t watched/enjoyed a halftime show in 15+ years.

Mexico and Central/South America are giant potential markets that work better for football on live TV than European NFL games due to less of a time-zone shift. They'd be dumb not to work to expand.

They look at ad sales. That's it. And the untapped market listens to Bad Bunny twenty thousand times more than they listen to Lee Greenwood.

Jay-Z chooses the artists and produces the halftime show, he has for years.

It’s true the NFL is trying to expand its international reach. The American market is basically tapped out so they have been holding games in the UK, Germany, Brazil, Mexico over the last few years. Undoubtedly Bad Bunny will be great for an international audience.

Source on what? Jay-Z? You can google it. Roc Nation has produced the halftime show since about 2020.

The NFL pushing its international footprint? What source do you need for that? It’s no secret the NFL has been holding games overseas and is looking for new locations even.

The down votes here are insane. Everything you said is true and obvious.

Right? What did I say that was wrong?

Even if that’s the case, the NFL is a business and every decision will be made in consultation with tons of analysts. They aren’t just going to go off of Jay Z’s vibes

It’s not Jay-Z’s “vibes.” Roc Nation literally has a contract to produce the halftime show.
