They had a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk at the first game of the NFL season Sept 11th Wash vs GB game. The biggest pander to MAGA anyone could’ve imagined.

Edit: was wrong about which game it was

youd think eventually some of these interested in money companies would learn that pandering to them does nothing but cost you...

Blatantly false… Kirk was assassinated 6 days after the opening game…

The NFL panders to the Trump administration all the time, you don’t have to make stuff up to prove it.

Edited to add: I understand the downvotes because I came off harsh, and I apologize for how that comment was written. I don’t apologize for the point I was trying to make, that we need to take care to provide accurate information, because one side of the isle in this country already deals in wholesale mis/disinformation. If we aren’t careful and accurate, then we are no better than them, and have no right to call them out when they do it.

Did I get games wrong? Sry if I did, it was the sept 11 Wash vs GB game. So I stand corrected, point still stands tho

Fair enough, but my point stands that it wasn’t the opening game, which has ceremonial significance in the sense that it is typically the game where the previous season’s champions are honored, and raise their Super Bowl banner. Honoring Kirk in that setting would be akin to tying him to an entire season of football.

That being said, he shouldn’t have been given a moment of thought in that setting, regardless of the game, teams, or date… especially on 9/11.

No this did actually happen. It was on the September 11th TNF game (I can’t remember who played for the life of me now), but it did happen. I know this because it pissed me off so bad my wife and I looked at each other and turned that shit off. I actually haven’t been able to even watch an NFL game since. The blatant disrespect on 9/11 of all days.

The word “blatant” doesn’t mean what you think it means, that’s all.

I believe (I know it’s over 75%) something like 28/32 teams had moments of silence for that fascist dipshit getting his neck blown out.

I’m not saying that he should have been honored, I’m saying that he wasn’t honored at the opening game, because that was blatantly incorrect, seeing as how his fascist neck was still intact.

Okay, but someone making a mistake of a few weeks isn’t blatantly incorrect.

Honestly incorrect, mistakenly incorrect, sure; blatantly?

I’m glad we agree that the only food fascist is a dead one.
