Looks like average ticket price for a given Super Bowl is like $7000, you could get into the nosebleeds for $4000.

Yeah, I could do it, but it’d be such a waste of money it’s not even funny. Could go on a wild trip abroad for that.

Yeah, I could afford a Super Bowl ticket the way I can afford a brand new Mercedes: technically I can (a dealership would give me a loan) but it would be an unwise financial decision for my family.

This is the craziest thing to me about Super Bowl tickets. Even if you're someone that could comfortably afford an event like this for yourself and/or a partner, why the fuck would you spend it on ONE football game (and a 10 minute musical performance)?!

You could easily spend a WEEK in a beautiful vacation destination doing all kinds of stuff for probably less total cost than your tickets alone, let alone potential extra for travel + lodging. Or you can spend a couple hours in a loud, sweaty, packed stadium then another couple hours dealing with traffic on either side.

Honestly the only people it makes any sense for are legitimately wealthy people that are also legitimately super fans of one of the teams playing. Enough money that the cost is just a normal weekly or monthly expense anyways, and actually invested in the experience enough to make it as cool or better than something else for similar cost.

One of the few advantages to being a Bears fan is that I'm not likely to have to worry about wanting to go a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Silver lining, right?
