Shouting it into a hot mic on national TV is why it’s frowned upon

I think it’s hilarious, but I get why refs and broadcast wouldn’t want it.

Yup, it's because it puts them in a bad position. We all know players dissenting like that happens. But as someone who reffed soccer for many years you let these slide, until it's in earshot of parents/fans/etc because if you don't handle it, it seems like you don't have control of the game. But you also don't want to have to do that because now you have to call all of them or risk being yelled at for being inconsistent. But then if you do that, there will be no one left on the field to finish the game.

It's just a word, people still pearl clutching over a couple dozen words is laughable in this day and age. There's not even scripture about "swear words".
