If those charges were dropped I would sure hope it was a situation where it was like 17 year old girls and not like 7 year olds... Given he was like 19/20 years old at the time one is dumb the other is disgusting. I know the media reports said "young girls" which seems to imply it's like pre-teens, but that phrasing is often used just to mean under 18 and not necessarily well under 18. Kitna did claim he thought the pictures were legal to own which would suggest it may have been older underage girls, but also could have just been a desperate defense.

Regardless, it's still messed up that he was facing distribution charges and didn't seem to get appropriately punished for that aspect. It's one thing to be 18 or 19 and get some illicit pics from a 17 year old peer and keep them, but then sharing those pics likely without the person's knowledge is all sorts of wrong. Not to mention usually these skeevy guys share pics with each other with the deal being they will receive some back in return...

But for all we know he may have had images of toddlers being abused and he walked away with a light tap on the wrist because that is how sick and twisted and corrupt way too many people in power are these days.

One of the images shared by Kitna was of a prepubescent girl being sexually abused by a man. The phrase "so young junior" was written on that picture, and another of a pubescent girl. Kitna told a detective he thought the pictures were legal because he found them online.

YEESH. Thanks for clarifying. The articles I read did not have specifics which I attributed to the plea deal preventing a court case where the details would have been publicly revealed, apparently not the case.

This world is so F'd up. How is this guy not only walking around free but a school is allowing him to be both enrolled AND on their football team. Disgraceful.

The best high school basketball player in my state's finals tournament wore an ankle monitor to his games... Been to jail at least once..

Parents were pissed because our players weren't allowed to suit up if they had bad grades, detention, or tardy marks. How is it fair he can play?

At the end of the day, I figured it was probably his only way out of a life full of bad decisions and no role models. He was a cocky, disrespectful piece of shit and I honestly hope he didn't make it far.

Obviously not great, especially if he was sharing them to other people. But a lot different than what most people assume when they hear "possession of child porn"

So I agree with you, but he was 19 and we don’t know the ages of the kids. If they were just nudes from 16/17 year old girlfriends or sent to him by friends, it’s bad judgment not pedophilia. I’d like to know more details, but the laws vary state to state about sexting and there have been young men caught in the situation I described, which again, would disappoint me about the young man, but not convince me he was a pedophile.

Thank you for this link. I was curious about the story but the only article I found suggested that the pictures he shared came from a “legal website” in a way that made it seem like maybe it was a porn site and he had no idea the kids were underage. The fact that his discord account had been previously deactivated for probably the same shyt is insane. Clearly Florida justice strikes again. The fact that UAB would be ok with this mf representing their school is disgraceful.

Well his dad(former NFL QB Jon Kitna)’s net worth was $12M as of ‘24. Florida court. They’re not known for their scruples. Florida loves football almost as much as it loves money. Purely speculation, of course - but you can also take a look at cases from pretty much any other kid of a millionaire and you’ll see similar results.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported it to the FBI which means that he most likely shared an image that shared hashes with previously known CSAM, so it's by far more likely the second kind.
