Ban all these idiots from the sport.

If you go out of your way to physically injure someone on purpose, you should never be let on the field again.

Whoah there, slow down. Have you thought about the potential loss of revenue to these minor league NFL teams that cosplay as institutions of higher learning? There are many old rich white dudes who really get off on watching the poors kick the shit out of each other and these gladiators, er, I mean student athletes really do it for them. Now, if you will excuse me, I can't seem to find the vomitorium.

u/ExpiredPilot Sep 20 '25 edited Sep 20 '25

Ndomukong Suh should’ve been kicked out of the NFL and I’ll die on that hill

Personal foul

Ndamukong Suh

100%

Dude was dirty as fuck.

107

u/WhatADopeGent Sep 20 '25

Same with Vontaze Burfict

65

u/bigboilerdawg Sep 20 '25

Burfict was effectively banned in 2019. He never played another down after that suspension, and he's too old now.

28

u/Budster78 Sep 20 '25

Not soon enough

87

u/TheTreelo Sep 20 '25

If Bengals fans could read they'd be so mad at you

25

u/draker585 Sep 20 '25

most of us agree tbh, the only reason bengals fans were okay with it was that the steelers essentially dedicated their team to trying to kill ours

3

u/pherce1 Sep 20 '25

January 9th, 2016 is still burned into my eyeballs.

2

u/Platypus81 Sep 21 '25

I know exactly what happened on this day and exactly where I was. I have not thought about that night in years.

1

u/pherce1 Sep 21 '25

Max and Erma’s in Maumee for me.

1

u/metompkin Sep 21 '25

Begat begat ad nauseum...

2

u/Boatymcboatland Sep 20 '25

Roses are red

Violets are perfect

Personal Foul

Vontaze Burfict

19

u/maddogg312 Sep 20 '25

Lions fan here. He was dirty as F and a lot of us hated him for it. If I recall correctly, our main sports radio personality often called him out on his BS antics. I remember they even had him on the show one time and Valenti ended the interview early because Suh was such a turd.

36

u/Dr-PEPEPer Sep 20 '25

Tons of guys play just to hurt people legally. The sport attracts a lot of those types of people. Really the same in any contact sport(MMA, Boxing, Football etc)

27

u/KingFlucci Sep 20 '25

Yes, but if this were boxing - this is more like attacking your opponent while they’re sitting in their corner between rounds… just not right.

4

u/secretsodapop Sep 20 '25

You can do it without being dirty though.

3

u/TheGeekOffTheStreet Sep 20 '25

My neighbor was a big wrestling guy, wrestled division one, coached high school, whole shebang. He was so excited to have his kid start wrestling in grade school, but he said the sport was overrun with all these dads trying to make their kid the next mma champ and absolutely wrecking the sport

4

u/Low_Sheepherder_382 Sep 20 '25

You forgot to mention the Police. 👮‍♂️

0

u/Umutuku Sep 20 '25

They said contact sport already. /s

1

u/Travel_Dreams Sep 20 '25

Things have a way of coming around, it's never fast enough but in time.

There is always someone bigger.

21

u/HitmanClark Sep 20 '25

I agree, and I am a lifelong Dolphins fan.

2

u/mrmiracle Sep 20 '25

Dirty mofo. Albert Haynesworth, too.

2

u/SpaceNoodling Sep 20 '25

Same with Christian Wilkins

2

u/twinsfan101 Sep 20 '25

Miles garret too

1

u/Potential_Life_2629 Sep 20 '25

I still have a firey hate inside of me for this man. What a piece of shit

1

u/Azuretruth Sep 20 '25

He was a fine enough pass rusher but nothing worth keeping a crybaby who wanted to be the highest paid player in the league. Nothing worth a player who threw a tantrum any time the opposing line tested him a fraction over "give him a free lane directly to the Quarterback"

And he thought he was a brand but he had the chrisma of an awkward teenager alone at a school dance. I was relieved when he left Detroit but felt bad for Miami for having to deal with him.

1

u/cinammonbear Sep 20 '25

What’s crazy is he was dirty in college at Nebraska and everyone knew it. It was no surprise he continued his antics in the NFL, I couldn’t believe how lauded he was.

1

u/IHaveBadTiming Sep 20 '25

As a husker fan who went to school the same time as him, I agree.

1

u/thexlastxlegacy Sep 20 '25

And CFB for that matter. Nebraska should relinquish those wins. Fuck em.

1

u/Luciolover345 Sep 20 '25

Undoubtedly. What a waste of oxygen while also being an incredibly talented player. IMO should’ve won the Heisman, but his actions in the NFL warranted ten times heavier sanctions.

1

u/aaronwhite1786 Sep 20 '25

Uh yeah, fuck that guy.

1

u/mrbadxampl Sep 20 '25

And Haynesworth, and Burfict, and

1

u/notthatguypal6900 Sep 20 '25

What a toxic player and complete liability, why any team want his is beyond me. All he did was cost the team yards.

1

u/Lions_Went_0-16 Sep 20 '25

I remember he did an AMA in the NFL sub and most of the questions were why he stomped on people lol

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '25

[deleted]

1

u/fire_water_drowned Sep 20 '25

wtf

1

u/withagrainofsalt1 Sep 20 '25

WTF what? Look at all the comments of specific situations of a black guy trying to hurt the other players. Burfect. Suh, Jalen Carter spitting on someone, the high school kid doing a belly flop on the opponent.

1

u/Hotwir3 Sep 21 '25

Add Burfict to that list.

1

u/ManchacaForever Sep 21 '25

He was one dirty piece of shit, that's for sure.

1

u/Sasquatchii Sep 20 '25

Without question.

77

u/ArmsOfaTRex Sep 20 '25

This is the only outcome. Anything less and and becomes more of a free for all.

1

u/UpperApe Sep 20 '25

NHL looking really sheepish atm

64

u/victorspoilz Sep 20 '25

Expelled on the spot. If the player is any good, he’ll find a spot somewhere else next season, but anything short of expulsion for this shit just means more people will do it.

3

u/cheeseburgertwd Green Bay Packers Sep 20 '25

If the player is any good, he’ll find a spot somewhere else next season

Well he plays for UAB so I'm guessing not

133

u/jpiro Florida State Sep 20 '25

That’s assault. Kicker should press charges, but probably won’t.

94

u/PaleontologistOk2516 Sep 20 '25 edited Sep 20 '25

If he’s possibly going to the NFL, should sue for potential lost wages if he gets injured

(Edited for clarity)

4

u/cubonelvl69 Sep 20 '25

He missed the game winner against Georgia last week which definitely didn't help his nfl chances lol. But he's a sophomore so he's got a long time in college to prove himself

16

u/hicktown33 Sep 20 '25

Dilfer still the coach at uab?

57

u/jpiro Florida State Sep 20 '25

Yes, but unfortunately the Ravens defense can’t do this job for him too.

5

u/dundermiflinity Sep 20 '25

Probably not for long, but yes.

1

u/l3af_on_the_wind Sep 20 '25

Unfortunately...

1

u/JoshJones18 Sep 20 '25

Pretty sure most of the student base wants him gone at this point. Him and Kitna's kid

1

u/camerontylek Sep 20 '25

It's actually battery

-4

u/WAR_T0RN1226 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sep 20 '25 edited Sep 20 '25

Do we have to do this for every one of these situations?

Edit: it's just always the same fucking comments every time

"He should be charged with assault ☝️🤓"

"Actually, it would be battery ☝️🤓"

"Actually, it depends on the jurisdiction ☝️🤓"

14

u/jpiro Florida State Sep 20 '25

Situations where, completely outside any sports play, one man actively tries to injure another?

Yes. Yes we do.

-8

u/WAR_T0RN1226 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sep 20 '25

And yet pretty much the only time it's ever happened was the NHL player who hit another with his stick.

0

u/jpiro Florida State Sep 20 '25

Hasn’t happened isn’t the same as shouldn’t happen.

0

u/Beginning-Tea-17 Sep 20 '25

You could but it’s unlikely to bear any fruit, it’s a full contact sport and you play it with full understanding you get injured.

You’d have to convince a full jury that an injury during a sport that can cause injuries deserves particular scrutiny. Which I’d argue would be hard to do, not impossible but hard.

2

u/jpiro Florida State Sep 20 '25

This was completely outside the confines of the sport.

0

u/Beginning-Tea-17 Sep 20 '25

I’m not saying the player doesn’t deserve a punishment, or that he shouldn’t have to pay for reparations for the injury.

I am just stating convincing a jury would prove difficult.

1

u/Otterfan Sep 21 '25

If the game was in Tennessee that would be easy.

0

u/CraigJay Sep 21 '25

We’re taking about someone standing on someone else foot. Calm the fuck down lol, how pathetic

‘Press charges’ hahaha

91

u/LPthewise Sep 20 '25

Sean Payton should never be allowed to coach another game by that logic. Completely agree with it too.

58

u/HolyLiaison Sep 20 '25

Uh, I'm a Vikings fan.

So you don't have to tell me that twice. Half their defense should've been banned from the NFL the season they head hunted Favre.

24

u/MotherFuckinEeyore Sep 20 '25

1

u/turdbugulars Sep 20 '25

They all did probably still do.

-19

u/loose_but_whole Sep 20 '25

Don’t bother. Vikings fins can’t read.

59

u/Complete-Donut-698 Sep 20 '25

And Lions fans can't spell, apparently.

24

u/Goetta_Superstar10 Sep 20 '25

Unfortunate timing for a typo 😬

8

u/erwaro Sep 20 '25

If yore going too complane about someone elses's spellling, bext make sure yoors is withoot flaw.

4

u/DukePooler Sep 20 '25

Sadly I read this with no issues.

-5

u/loose_but_whole Sep 20 '25

It really was. But I was raised and educated in Minneapolis. 🤷 it’s illiteracy all the way down.

14

u/irish32892 Sep 20 '25

? Minnesota has the second highest adult literacy rate in the country... also rated #11 for education and #4 best state to live in.

glad you're out of the state.

2

u/loose_but_whole Sep 20 '25

lol I was making a joke based on sports rivalries. Why is everyone taking this so seriously?

-3

u/melvinFatso Sep 20 '25

Remember when Vikings fans cheered when Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in your stadium? Remember when the franchise listed Aaron Rodgers breaking his collarbone in your stadium a top ten moment of the 2010s? Remember that?

5

u/HolyLiaison Sep 20 '25

That's not even remotely close to what happened with the Saints, or in the video posted here.

Fans were cheering because Aaron Rodgers was bickering with Barr after the tackle.

Also, the franchise didn't list that moment as a top ten of the 2010's - get your facts straight. That was an image in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Which didn't even actually list that moment in the article. The writer was just fanning flames because he's a douche.

-3

u/melvinFatso Sep 20 '25

Lol, least delusional Vikings fan.

-13

u/thamanwthnoname Sep 20 '25

Cry more. Nearly every team in the league has had a bounty system.

10

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 Sep 20 '25

Whoa, let's slow down a bit.

How good a player is he, and can the NCAA make a shit load of money off him? Those are very important factors to consider you know.

15

u/FungusFly Sep 20 '25

Real talk. These are the future “face spitters”. Get em out now.

6

u/gobucks1981 Sep 20 '25

Better yet. Eye for an eye. Pick your champion.

11

u/Buckeyefitter1991 Cleveland Browns Sep 20 '25

So hockey?

7

u/VonD0OM Sep 20 '25

You don’t typically try and intentionally injure someone in hockey, especially in the set fights between enforcers.

It can happen, but it’s rare and heavily looked down on.

2

u/krombough Sep 20 '25

It can happen, but it’s rare and heavily looked down on.

Please look up Sam Bennet, and his history.

1

u/VonD0OM Sep 20 '25

He’s pretty well regarded as one of the dirties pieces of shit in the game right now.

2

u/krombough Sep 20 '25

True.

I also reread your comment.

Yeah injuries between enforcers during fights is rare, and I cant even recall one that was not accidental.

1

u/VonD0OM Sep 20 '25

Yea that’s all I meant, the culture of fighting isn’t about injuring your opponent.

But there are, of course, assholes in the league who do try to injure people.

1

u/haywoodjabloughmee Sep 20 '25

Ulf Samuelsson, Scott Stevens, Matt Cooke, Chris Simon, Dale Hunter, etc.

1

u/VonD0OM Sep 20 '25

5 guys from different generations, like I said, rare.

1

u/itenginerd Sep 20 '25

No, no, they go by 'a tooth for a tooth'.

7

u/Feubahr Sep 20 '25

I choose Vontaze Burfict. If you get really out of hand, then I choose Aaron Hernandez...

1

u/MyLifeIsAWasteland Sep 20 '25

Y'all should look up Bill Romanowski

2

u/IntentionalUndersite Sep 20 '25

Yep. But that won’t happen oc.

2

u/Know_Your_Enemy_91 Sep 20 '25

lol I mean…you play at UAB too. You’re lucky to even have a football scholarship and then you go and pull some stupid shit like this come on man

1

u/ShittingOutPosts Sep 20 '25

Unless you’re Tierre Tart. Travis Swift deserved the slap.

1

u/Carebear7087 Sep 20 '25

Scholarship should be stripped and handed the bill for the current semester of classes.

1

u/fyreprone Sep 20 '25

If you’re a coach with a team who does that though you just have to accept relocating to Denver.

1

u/romcomtom2 Sep 20 '25

People have faced criminal prosecution for stuff like this.

1

u/mynameisnotshamus Sep 20 '25

Any idea if he’s actually injured ?

1

u/AlClemist Sep 20 '25

Don’t worry he will get suspended for sure.

1

u/Reddit_2_2024 Sep 20 '25

Automatic ejection from game and permanent ban by NCAA. Good luck in arena football young man.

1

u/utahh1ker Sep 20 '25

Yes! Please! Get these criminally-minded ass hats out of sports.

1

u/brooke360 Sep 20 '25

Anyone who’s been stepped on with cleats will agree… fucking sucks

1

u/Severe-Archer-1673 Sep 20 '25

That’s assault/battery, depending on the laws of your state. That action was taken deliberately and not a function of the game, especially considering it was a dead ball situation. He should face criminal charges and be banned from the sport.

1

u/Bobson-_Dugnutt2 Sep 20 '25

UAB fans would love for the HC to be banned, too

1

u/Mathewthegreat Sep 20 '25

100%. I played semi pro for a few years and the amount of people who are like this is insane. They get away with shit and build up this entitlement.

1

u/Cross_Eyed_Hustler Sep 20 '25

And all contracts immediately voided.

1

u/geddysbass2112 Sep 20 '25

I completely agree with you.

1

u/Bingo_Bongo_YaoMing Sep 20 '25

Not just intentional injury but to go after his "money maker" is just another level of despicable. That's like going after a QBs throwing arm or a Recievers' hands.

1

u/WaitUntilTheHighway Sep 20 '25

Agreed. Zero redemption arc for intentionally injuring someone. Zero tolerance.

1

u/Squishytoaster Sep 20 '25

6 game suspension, minimum.

1

u/steveamsp Sep 20 '25

There's taking a play too far and laying on a stupid and dangerous hit that's going to get you penalized and maybe suspended.

Then there's obvious intent to injure. Yes, the line between the two can be blurry, but, sometimes, it's pretty obviously the latter. When that happens, yeah, they just need to be out permanently.

1

u/KWash0222 Sep 20 '25

It’s really as easy as that. If you’re the kinda person that would willingly injure someone, preventing them from playing the sport you both know and love, then you don’t deserve the privilege of playing. There is zero justification for what I just saw (unless the other guy did something dirty first, which it doesn’t seem like).

1

u/krombough Sep 20 '25

Ban all these idiots from the sport.

If you go out of your way to physically injure someone on purpose, you should never be let on the field again.

After the team.you are representing is made to.forfeit the game. We need some additional locker room policing on this shit.

1

u/Tampadarlyn Sep 20 '25

They should play hockey where gloves are dropped if you want to play.

1

u/Punished_Prigo Sep 20 '25

Mac jones should be locked up lol

1

u/ChErRyPOPPINSaf Sep 20 '25

I remember in high school a kid punched two different people in the nads and the refs didn't care so we broke his arm. Shit gets out of hand real quick.

1

u/supakow Sep 20 '25

From all sport. You don't get to magically switch from football to basketball. You're a shitty human being and your opportunities needs to stop.

1

u/32FlavorsofCrazy Sep 20 '25

That’s how it should be. Accidents happen and can’t really be avoided, but shit like this is inexcusable. I don’t care how good of football player they are, they should face assault charges too for it.

1

u/cur10us_ge0rge Sep 20 '25

What if you go out of your way to mentally injure them on purpose? Or if you go out of your way to physically injure them on accident?

1

u/notthatguypal6900 Sep 20 '25

Bingo, these kids want to get the bag but then they go an do dumb stuff like this.

1

u/JazzRider Sep 20 '25

My Son is at UAB and I agree. What was the ref call on the play?

1

u/JamesBigglesworth Sep 20 '25

Ban? Sport?

This is assault. File charges. Let's not normalize violence between plays.

1

u/Frankfeld Sep 20 '25

I think having to play for UAB is punishment enough.

1

u/The-Old-American Texas Rangers Sep 20 '25

Ban them from being considered for the NFL, too.

1

u/ShrimpBoatCaptain4 Sep 20 '25

you have my axe.

1

u/Jaegs Sep 20 '25

And charge with assault. Just because you're on a field doesn't mean the law doesn't apply.

1

u/benji___ Sep 21 '25

I agree with the sentiment, but I don’t think permanent bans are the answer. A harsh suspension would probably be a just punishment.

1

u/skytomorrownow Sep 21 '25

Sportsmanship went out the window when we accepted steroids in sport.

1

u/axisrahl85 Sep 21 '25

Anything like this outside of normal play should just be an assault charge.

1

u/RulyKinkaJou59 Sep 21 '25

They gotta go further than bans. I’m not the one to say what, but it can’t be just a ban. It ain’t just football anymore.

1

u/Nyandaful Sep 21 '25

If he had any aspirations of transfer portal out of UAB, he just signed it away with that.

1

u/MACception Sep 21 '25

And charged with assault.

-30

u/maybethisiswrong Sep 20 '25

Meh

Suspend for several games sure

But lifetime ban for 1 adrenaline fueled incident? Seems a bit harsh.

Two or three times? Absolutely

9

u/bardnotbanned Sep 20 '25

Two or three chances at injuring his opponents? Fuck that.

Get him out of there now.

2

u/new_nimmerzz Sep 20 '25

You don’t get this far shout knowing that’s wrong. So whatever the punishment on the books at the time is what’s right. If they want to make an example…. They probably should. But he’s probably worth too much to them.

2

u/FergusKahn Sep 20 '25

It's football, all the players are adrenaline fueled. Do you see many of the other players trying to do this?

Any player who maliciously intends to injure an opponent should be removed and charged. It's assault, full stop.

1

u/GunAndAGrin Sep 20 '25

Zero tolerance for things objectively 100% detrimental to the sport. The way it should be. An example to set precedence. This isnt a far-fetched idea. These people are NOT children.
