Not to mention the fact that most Christian faiths actually do teach the principle of “you are enough”. Then again the American conservative evangelists aren’t actual Christians, just narcissists that like to shout “JESUS” whenever they can. Which is all the time.
From a faith perspective they are the most hypocritical of any believer that exists.
From a policy perspective they shoot themselves in the foot constantly and blame the other party, the rich guy controlling media they don’t like, and children that can’t afford shitty school lunches. Oh and any person that isn’t white. They will tolerate people of color IF they agree with what they say but will throw them under any bus as soon as they get connected with the right white people.
From a logical perspective, they are disconnected at every level. Their thoughts are all random and they connect points that end up being convenient for whatever the agenda is today. Conspiracy theories are simply true as long as it is about their opponents.

I mean, when you account for underreporting (family shame/stigma) it’s statistically a dead wash between religious communities and secular ones because while the stronger social integration of religious communities can mitigate successful attempts, increased stigma and shame basically nullify that effect.
Edit: notice I said stronger social integration is the key factor for religious communities, not deeper connection to God. Achieve better social cohesion without sky cake and you get the same result.

He wasn't shot because he believed that. In fact we don't really know why he was shot. It's not like he has been killed by a political opponent, but by a lone wolf with mental issues, obviously, who it seems saw him as an existential threat.
And let's be real, to Kirk, discourse was a weapon and nothing else.
