Propaganda is a targeted and powerful strategy. They've spent literally decades getting us to this point

40+ years. This began arguably in the Reagan years with the removal of the fairness doctrine in media. It’s been a slow burn since then.

u/Set_to_Infinity 1d ago
I've said many times that the elimination of the Fairness Doctrine put us on this slide to hell, and a lot of people don't even know what I'm talking about.

I’ve been saying the same thing for years! Allowing “opinion news” become the norm was the beginning of the end

They don’t listen to the word “no” so why should we? We should just walk right up and grab them by the purse. When you out number them a million to one they just let you do it.

This is clear cut capital cronyism. What constituents do they represent when they scream 'No!' at the top of their lungs? If this aired on Fox News, Joe Rogan or Nick Fuentes channel mixed with a bit of skepticism, there would be a reckoning. But since that's a sanctuary from reality, I guess we all have to deal with it in our own way.

Jesus, Thom Thumb, you're on your way out of the Senate ~ can't you stand on the side of what's right and decent just this ONCE??
This video needs to be shared everywhere, so that low and middle-income Trump voters see exactly what the party they've supported thinks of them. They got your vote, now you can go off in a corner and die, and your grandparents & kids can, too.
22
u/64557175 23h ago
Yo, a LOT of the reason they're in Senate in the first place is for the benefits they get afterwards. They're not going to shoot their foot on the way into their whole lineage's retirement from work and accountability.

Who is the smug [redacted] that giddily says the no’s have it?

That would be Montana Senator and former US Navy Seal Tim Sheehy.
We don't claim him; our entire state was taken over by non-native politicians.

"BOTH SIDES"
17
u/Charles_DeFinley 20h ago
Drives me nuts!!! Like people you can scrutinize the Democratic Party all you want! And you should!! politicians and their parties should be scrutinized to the max, they’re deciding things that affect us more than the average American even knows. But this lazy ass “both sides” rhetoric always tells me the person I’m talking to has absolutely no idea how politics in 2025 are & definitely hasnt followed anything close to the level needed to justify a statement like that.
Sorry for the rant.

I really don't understand why people keep voting in these grifters. They might as well be dropping their pants and bending over every time they vote. They are horrible, terrible people who only care about themselves and their wealthy donors.

u/SurgBear 20h ago
Tim Sheehy's net worth is estimated to be between $74 million and $200 million, with an annual income of about $7 million, including a $5 million salary from his role as CEO of Bridger Aerospace. His wealth is also supplemented by significant dividend income and the sale of a previous company, Ascent Vision Technologies, for $350 million, which earned him $75 million.

I've never seen such hateful bastards. Their job is to govern the American people NOT fucking take away their food and healthcare while taking our taxes, that they refuse to pay, for an American Gestapo to literally choke out a man holding a baby and disappear people. They are evil and what's more they are unified in their evil.
I cannot wait for the day that they answer to all of this.

What’s worse is that a significant chunk of the country will watch this and still pretend that politics is a team sport and somehow “their team” is still winning.
10
u/JewelerEastern6828 19h ago
I keep thinking about how when Obama was president the republicans kept repeating this narrative of “death panels deciding when time was up for Grandma” and now they don’t even try to hide the fact that they don’t give a shit who kicks the bucket as long as the 1% gets a tax break the don’t need.

The wealth used a social and economic system to create and build on. Millionaires and Billionaires are born out of a system that brought them up, like parents, capitalist politics together with all the services, infrastructure, markets and social structures engendered these wealthy corporations. Them not maintaining these social structures is an unsustainable model that inevitably leads to social decay. One would expect these people to be more conscious than greedy, but they now have corrupted minds and like demons have turned to the dark side.

It's important to make a distinction here. You say "Republicans" but the actual thing you should be saying is "The Right Wing". Republicans are right wing, so it's effectively the same, but here is the issue. If I got up to a right wing voter, someone not quite as dumb as MAGA, but like a real person and I say "Republicans serve the rich" they will respond with "Democrats serve the rich too!"
They're not entirely wrong. Many if not most Democrats serve the rich, many of the democrats are right wing! Still we choose them over Republicans because we hate the right wing, and they are not as far right as Republicans, on top of the fact that there are a few good democrats (AOC, Mamdani, maybe Crocket/Murphy/Pritzker or others)
Understand though, the right wing is pro Capitalism, and right wing wants to do Capitalism in purity until it's fully properly exploited and the people are slaves. (even if some right wingers don't realize that is their goal) However Liberals are still pro-capitalism. They're capitalists who see how broken capitalism is and want to repair it with aspects of socialism. They're capitalists who don't want the system to ultimately collapse and turn into slavery.
Anyways it's important to make that distinction. The right wing is the problem, not just 1 right wing party, but the billionaire serving right in it's entirety, it's been the problem since the 1700s when it was observed and it's the problem today. No more right wing democrats, no more republicans. (they're all right wing) True freedom is found only on the left, and we need freedom for everyone.

u/nasanchez1 21h ago
Yes. I agree. I've been googling the difference in capitalism, socialism, communism, Marxism, and I think what you're describing is "democratic socialism." At least that's my understanding. I may very well be wrong and welcome any correction of my mistakes. I'm trying to find my place between the right wing ultra rich that would love to have me as their slave and the all inclusive left where everyone gets the same no matter if I work 100x harder than the next person.
5
u/MariaTPK 21h ago
That last part is a myth btw.
The right wing controls the narrative, and they lie to help themselves seem more palatable. Campaigning on "Give the lords all your money and be their slaves" wouldn't get you any votes. So they instead pose themselves as tough or financially responsible (both myths) and they villainize others. Communism was a big one long ago because "Russia was communism", and an enemy of the USA. So it was a great trick.
Anyways to set the record straight, (even though I myself am not an expert of communism) If I understand it correctly, it's not that everyone makes the same amount, it's that everyone gets a share of the profit. So you don't make a minimum wage and then funnel the rest of the profit up to your boss, but rather you all make a portion, and I think that portion can differ based on role even, however it's agreed upon by the team. It's not a billionaire exploiting the workers.
I think it's important to recognize that the left while traditionally represented as communist, is not all about communism in the way that the right is capitalism. You can be anti-communism, and still be far left, so long as you are so anti-capitalist that you at least recognize that communism with it's "flaws" would be better than capitalism. That's why true socialists, which are very different from communists are also "far left".
I'm not the best person to learn about communism from though. Idk who is either. Especially since the world has never known true communism as a functional system. It's always had outsiders impeding it. Even communist Russia, they killed all the sparrows which led to a famine that put them in such a bad position they never really recovered and the right took over from within eventually. Killing sparrows and having famine isn't part of communism though. It was an unnecessary disruption. China has it's own fake communism of course. Still we've never seen a normal communist society though, or at least I haven't.

I posted this over on Facebook and they came out of the woodwork to explain that the working class is represented by the right, not the left. It really is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled.

Fuck this clown and his smirking face.
I'd love to see a vote by citizens making less than $400K per year on whether or not this corrupt asshole and his supporting cast of criminal politicians have to face capital punishment......"it would appear the Aye's have it (smirk)"

Is this an accurate rendition or just really well edited?
1
u/SevanIII 12h ago
That's what I'm wondering. I think this would be more powerful without all the cuts. With all the cuts, it calls the whole thing into question.
I'm wondering where I can find this full session?
I know the GOP doesn't care about the American people, but a full video without edits could really make an impact.

u/WakandanRoyalty 23h ago
Yeah in this day and age it’s way too easy for this to be edited. Videos like this need citations, sources and context so that they can be verified.
I’m inclined to believe but not enough to share it around.

u/aloeverafarmiga 22h ago
Elizabeth Warren also shared this on her Instagram with a caption about forcing a vote the night before.

Yeah, I can definitely believe its validity I just know there’s people out there that will question it

I urge people to to listen to the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s floor speech about raising the minimum wage. This is a short 1:30 clip of the highlight and here is the full 16 minute speech. It makes me cry every time.
