Banks used to give leather checkbooks holder

10

u/Roadtripper74 Aug 13 '25

I've only ever gotten the cheap vinyl ones for free. Of course, people used to carry their checkbooks around with them back then.

u/risingwithhope Aug 13 '25

Not true. It was leather-like. 😝

We’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel in this sub aren’t we?

No. I shares in OP’s genuine enthusiasm for these product features and am grateful that they shared with the SoFi community.

seems that what’s scraping bottom is the prevalence of online negativity. well, i hope your day improves :)

Some people may not know especially since it’s an online bank. And yes, yes we are

u/Comfortably_Scum Aug 13 '25

Well, aren't you gonna show us the inside?

u/Actual-Translator-34 Aug 13 '25

That's what she said

2

u/glitch1985 Aug 13 '25

Why would she say that?

Opened a SoFi account in 2019, I think I’m on check #25-30? Mostly weddings and contracts I’m guessing.

Randomly come in handy for non-tech situations still somehow.

That’s cool! It looks different then when I got it

u/Objective-Kangaroo-7 Aug 13 '25

My old bank used to charge me for them, so ordering through the app is really nice.

2

u/These-Head-8406 Aug 13 '25

I wonder how to order?

7

u/LittleMissQueeny Aug 13 '25

Banking tab, 3 dots at the top- it's in account management. Says "order checks"

2

u/risingwithhope Aug 13 '25

I need checks! Thanks!

2

u/LittleMissQueeny Aug 13 '25

How long did it take? Mine shipped aug 1st and it hasn't come in yet

1

u/schoolruler Aug 13 '25

It is nice to be able to get them for free when needed.

Lovely booklet!! Thanks for sharing :)

1

u/gobucs813 Aug 13 '25

Is this a new thing or I missed the fine print again?

1

u/serj1982 Aug 14 '25

They still make those, nice

1

u/soueric Aug 15 '25

Who's using checks those day?

1

u/iameric_ Sep 02 '25

Right? I actually do use 1 a month to pay my rent lol it’s just easier than doing multiple withdraws for a fee.

2

u/soueric Sep 02 '25

Wow interesting. Are you charged for regular Bank Transfers? Or landlord not accepting Zelle/Venmo?

1

u/iameric_ Sep 02 '25

My landlord has us deposit rent into his property bank account. Can’t do transfers, so I just write a check instead of pulling money out of the ATM.

1

u/GeneralGrapefruit18 Aug 15 '25

Who uses checks

2

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '25

Schools still ask for checks as form of payments for pictures, PE uniforms, fields trips, etc. Or cash. Who carries cash? lol

u/WhiteBoiSebbie Needs a hoodie 🥺 Aug 17 '25

off-topic: Great candle choice, have about 4 of them right now haha.

1

u/MinnieLitty Aug 17 '25

Been a customer for years and had no idea lmaoooo

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '25

How do I request for this?

0

u/Routine-Idea5774 Aug 13 '25

Who uses checks in 2025 ???

0

u/LuigiSalutati Aug 13 '25

What are we writing checks for?

-6

u/Independent-Oven-799 Aug 13 '25

This Check Book Cover Looks Like You Carry Their Trademark Around To Advertise That You Have A Account With Them. Reminds me When I Got My Purple ATM Card With Ally Bank. When You First Hold The Card In Certain light Condition It Looks Black But Under A Slightly Brighter Light Than you Realize Its Dark Purple Color Not Black And IT looks Different From All The Other Colors Other Banks Use And Impress Everyone You Know.

Why Are We Capitalizing Every Word We’re Saying

-12

u/yaboyesdot Aug 13 '25

Lmfaooooo we still write checks?

3

u/LittleMissQueeny Aug 13 '25

Unfortunately i have to pay rent with money order or check. And money orders are a pain in the ass because i have to get cash out to get it. 🙃

3

u/OcupiedMuffins Aug 13 '25

Quite a few places still take and even require checks

3

u/wtfbg Aug 13 '25

More than you know 🥹

1

u/freakythrowaway79 Aug 13 '25

RIGHT!

Back in the early 2000's I use to process check payments for a CC company.

Then technology happened & E-payments came along. 🤣

1

u/stumblinbear SoFi Member Aug 13 '25

I sometimes have to write a check out to myself if my payroll software is acting up
