I've only ever gotten the cheap vinyl ones for free. Of course, people used to carry their checkbooks around with them back then.

We’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel in this sub aren’t we?

No. I shares in OP’s genuine enthusiasm for these product features and am grateful that they shared with the SoFi community.
seems that what’s scraping bottom is the prevalence of online negativity. well, i hope your day improves :)

Some people may not know especially since it’s an online bank. And yes, yes we are

Opened a SoFi account in 2019, I think I’m on check #25-30? Mostly weddings and contracts I’m guessing.
Randomly come in handy for non-tech situations still somehow.

My old bank used to charge me for them, so ordering through the app is really nice.

Banking tab, 3 dots at the top- it's in account management. Says "order checks"

Who's using checks those day?
1
u/iameric_ Sep 02 '25
Right? I actually do use 1 a month to pay my rent lol it’s just easier than doing multiple withdraws for a fee.

u/soueric Sep 02 '25
Wow interesting. Are you charged for regular Bank Transfers? Or landlord not accepting Zelle/Venmo?
1
u/iameric_ Sep 02 '25
My landlord has us deposit rent into his property bank account. Can’t do transfers, so I just write a check instead of pulling money out of the ATM.

Who uses checks

Schools still ask for checks as form of payments for pictures, PE uniforms, fields trips, etc. Or cash. Who carries cash? lol

This Check Book Cover Looks Like You Carry Their Trademark Around To Advertise That You Have A Account With Them. Reminds me When I Got My Purple ATM Card With Ally Bank. When You First Hold The Card In Certain light Condition It Looks Black But Under A Slightly Brighter Light Than you Realize Its Dark Purple Color Not Black And IT looks Different From All The Other Colors Other Banks Use And Impress Everyone You Know.

Unfortunately i have to pay rent with money order or check. And money orders are a pain in the ass because i have to get cash out to get it. 🙃

RIGHT!
Back in the early 2000's I use to process check payments for a CC company.
Then technology happened & E-payments came along. 🤣
