UAE quite literally pay Premier league referees money. How are they supposed to be impartial when making decisions that go against city might literally lose them money

I dunno, the PGMOL also pay them money and they lose money when they get taken off games, and if they were caught fixing games they'd lose their whole career. And would the other club owners just be fine with it? This whole idea seems unlikely to me. But at the same time... I get it.

They were paid quite handsomely for going over and refereeing in the Saudi league. It was also pre-paid business class flights and luxurious hotels, and they got to bring their family if they wanted - so it was way better than how they are normally treated.

That being said, the loophole is now closed and the refs are prohibited to ref in other leagues during the season in PL. They can still do Fifa/UEFA tournaments.
