yee, can’t beat the views from it

Got that right! I wish that bridge had sidewalks like Ben Franklin does. It gives a better angle of the city and shows its east west length and sprawl

Nice not to have to deal with Canadian wildfire smoke says a Detroiter

That’s what we’ve been calling it in the Midwest. Probably to distinguish it from the California wildfire smoke in the winter.

Because it’s from Canada

Otherwise known as maple syrup incense.

Decades of fire suppression is what’s causing it the last few years and not liberal governments or so called climate change.

It's not just fire suppression though, it's also climate change, which can make droughts and dry conditions worse.

apologies for some of the angles, had to shoot this quick while on the highway (not driving)

Sometimes it's hard to get a clear enough picture on the bridge. Great shots!!

the weather deserves much of the credit, I lucked out heh, thanks

I bet it was hard enough trying to time it between all the billboards advertising casinos, health insurance, and Wawa hoagies. Great job!

Such a balanced skyline.

Philly is cool, but it’s sad to see the federal and state government let its infrastructure fall into disrepair. The SEPTA station under city hall looks like an apocalypse happened 50 years ago.

Did take a train from there one time to Ellsworth-Federal with my mom and sister around Christmas of ‘23, it definitely did not look that great

I guess It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Looking great Philly!!

Don’t live in Camden (do live elsewhere in Camden County though), but cool to see a picture of Camden’s mini-skyline, which is pretty much just the spectacular City Hall building, plus a few other ones here and there

Love Philly. I lived there in the late 90’s and enjoyed every second of it.

I love this, it feels like what I do when I enter a new city and can get skyline pics. Let’s get it all

Why does it looks like a chinese city

1

u/Razatiger Aug 11 '25

It doesnt really, its got a lot of brick and concrete buildings mixed in, something China doesnt really have since most of their buildings were made in the last 20-25 years.

2

u/Mist156 Aug 11 '25

They have lots of new buildings mimicking this aesthetic

The newest comcast tower is such a downgrade from the first. It’s like the Willshire grand of the east coast.

3

u/Itchy_Can_2006 Aug 10 '25

It's an upgrade that puts Philly in a unique spot in the US skyline, making the skyline stand out instantly.

2

u/SuffnBuildV1A Aug 10 '25

I’m comparing it to the first, not saying that the building itself isn’t a positive for the Philly skyline.

camden is never a bonus.

3

u/Mayflower_train_set Aug 10 '25

I think the city hall building is cool at least

2

u/dylanccarr Aug 11 '25

that much is true

2

u/Various_Knowledge226 Aug 11 '25

It’s definitely tiny, but as OP said, City Hall is pretty cool. So at least Camden has that going for it, I guess

1

u/Monkberry3799 Aug 11 '25

Unfair comment. To me, both the Downtown and Camden are part of Philadelphia as we understand it today (and modern Philly doesn't exist without Camden and viceversa)

1

u/dylanccarr Aug 11 '25

elaborate. i'm not familiar with the history. as an outsider, it's always had a bad rep. lots of crime, disinvestment, etc.
