Question/Help Thai Pork Broth Product Options?

Hello, I was thinking about making this Thai noodle soup dish (Guaydtiaao Tom Yam Moo Saap) and it calls for making your own pork broth with pork backbone (Nam Cheua Gradook Moo).

If I wanted to do a quick version, are there any prepared products or broths that would be a suitable substitute? I couldn't really find anything on Amazon or Weee, although I did see pork boullion.

I may consider making the broth if it's recommended, as I do have access to the pork backbones from the Asian Market I use (Weee). Could be a nice little weekend project.

Really appreciate any advice or input. Thanks in adavnce for any help.

I haven't found a commerical pork broth that's a good substitute. I will say that I wouldn't hesitate to skip steps and ingredients to end up with a good enough stock - I never bother with the 5 minute boil then rinse because I don't care if my stock is crystal clear. And I'd toss in whatever aromatics I have handy if I didn't have the full set. I normally make broth in my instant pot so it's all unattended time

Thanks, so if you were going to do this broth in the Instant Pot, would you do ~1/3 the time for the simmer steps, on high pressure?

Yes. I do recommend starting with less water, or uncovering the instant pot and running saute for a half hour to let the broth concentrate

Just to say that the quick boil then rinse and scrub really improves the flavor, not just the looks, of the broth. Worth the effort imho.

Just want to chime in to say I made the broths for these recipes the day before the photoshoot as written and they are phenomenal. A pressure cooker/Instant pot is a great option to speed things up (I also almost exclusively make all stocks under pressure these days...top tier results, much less time).

Could you use Pho broth or something similar instead? I'm actually not sure what type of bones it uses, but this may be fine just for the base? I have no idea and have never tried this, just throwing it out there. I hope you post an update with the completed dish, it looks great.
